The Mercury LN7 was dicontinued in 1983 but the Ford version (EXP) was manufactured until 1988 until being replaced by the Probe. Although the Probe replaced it in the company's lineup, the Escort ZX2 can be seen as a more direct replacement to the EXP.

Although options were limited with this car, it either came with a four cylinder or V6 engine.
