Genet is better known as Citizen Genet, sent by the French revolutionary government in 1793 to build pro-French support in the U.S. However, all Genet did was embarrass himself and insult Presdient Washington. Washington urged the French government to recall Genet, which they did. Genet, fearing that he would be be-headed if he returned to France, asked for, and was granted, asylum in the U.S. Genet met Clinton's daughter Cornelia on a trip to New York City and they married. Genet lived the rest of his life in the U.S. and died in 1834.

Answer: Morgan Lewis

Lewis served as Chief Justice of the New York Supreme Court and also Attorney General for New York. He served as New York governor from 1804-07 and died in 1844.

Answer: 1808

Clinton received 6 of New York's 19 electoral votes in the 1808 election. There was a movement early in the election year to end the apparent tradition of Virginians occupying the presidency and Clinton's name was advanced to that vein. However, the movement fell apart but Clinton still received 6 home state votes.

However, James Madison won the election with 122 electoral votes, to Charles Pinckney's 47.
10. In what year was George Clinton's body moved from it's original burial site in Washington to Kingston, NY.

Answer: 1908

Clinton died April 20, 1812, the first sitting vice-president to die in office. Clinton was, at the time, buried in Congressional Cemetary in Washington but his remains were moved to Kingston in 1908.
