Known as Groom Lake, this location is also known as Area 51. About 83 miles of Las Vegas, the secretive base sits in the middle of the desert. Some believe the base is used to develop and test secret aircraft, while conspiracy theorists will tell you it's where the government is hiding crashed UFOs. Chances are, you will not get in here.

The Lascaux Cave in France was found in 1940 by four boys looking for their dog. It contains hundreds of prehistoric cave paintings, depicting animals such as horses,deer, aurochs, ibex, bison, and cats. Sadly, the cave is no longer open to the general public, having been closed in 1963 when fungus and algae growing on the walls caused by human visitors were seen to be damaging the irreplaceable paintings.

A replica cave has been created nearby, enabling visitors to pretend that they have seen the real thing.

About 90 miles from the city of São Paulo lies Ilha de Queimada Grande, or "Snake Island". It is a place so filled with venomous serpents that it's been called one of the "world's deadliest islands".
