Answer: To salute all officer, and all colors and standards not cased.

To take charge of this post and all government properties in view is the first General Order.

Answer: Parris Island, South Carolina and San Diego, California

Recruits that reside on the west coast of the Mississippi River will report to MCRD San Diego. Those that reside on the east of the Mississippi will report to MCRD Parris Island. Regardless of where you are trained you will always be called a Marine.

Some call San Diego recruits "Hollywood Marines". Don't ever call someone that...it is disrespectful. Funny but not appropriate. Female Recruits, regardless of their location will train at Parris Island, SC in 4th Battalion.
4. The US Marine Corps Emblem is the Eagle, Globe and Anchor. What does each part of the symbol mean?

Answer: Eagle - National Defense, Globe - Worldwide Service, Anchor - Naval Traditions

The full gold Eagle, Globe and Anchor is designated for the Enlisted Dress Blue Uniform. The gold and pewter version is for the Officer's Dress.

Answer: Tun Tavern, Philadelphia, PA, November 10, 1775

It was founded by the Continental Congress. The tavern was also used as the very first recruiting office.

The oldest Marine will be presented a sword to cut the cake. There are two pieces cut. The first piece is placed in a designated place to be given to the lost Marines that served in action. The second piece is presented to the youngest Marine, to represent the passing of the torch to the next generation of Marines.

Answer: Archibald Henderson

Archibald Henderson was the longest serving Commandant of the US Marine Corps, serving in that billet from 1820-1859.

When passing an Officer walking in the same direction, you should approach to the left and abreast of the Officer. While saluting you will say "By your leave".
