I just took that quiz Wesley and I totally agree. Very creative and you can see a lot of work went into it. Reply #341. Dec 22 16, 9:05 AM |

Just a suggestion, is there any good reason why crosswords should not be considered an Editor's Choice? Particularly as it's stated in FT's create a crossword section that "crossword creation is trickier than quiz creation." Reply #342. Dec 22 16, 9:24 AM |

Right now, the database simply doesn't support any rating/ranking of crosswords or an Editor's Choice designation for them. Crosswords are only ranked as easier, average or hard, based on the ratio of attempts to completions. Discussion of added rating functionality should be done on the Feedback forum or in a separate thread on "General". Reply #343. Dec 22 16, 10:14 AM |

Seriously? In all of 2017 no one else has encountered a fantastic but awardless quiz? Or is there another reason for zero suggestions? Reply #346. Oct 13 17, 11:37 AM |

I see that no quiz here has received a suggested Editor's award, since 2015. So, it was a really great idea but hasn't panned out. Maybe there could to be a People's Choice button, or "You've Been Nominated" award, or thread, instead. Reply #347. Oct 13 17, 11:47 AM |

This thread comes and goes. Rest assured that suggestions posted in here are certainly looked at though. As for a people's choice award, that's what the Sunnies are. ;) Reply #348. Oct 13 17, 11:48 AM |

I spotted that one go online the other day; it's from a Challenge title I posted to the list way back and I'm so happy it was done justice. :) Reply #350. Apr 12 19, 5:09 PM |

'Walt Disney's 'Fantasia' (1940)' by gracious1 This quiz writer continues to exceed even my exacting expectations and produces better and more original quizzes. One of the best on FT, already a multiple Editors' Choice winner. Reply #351. Jul 18 19, 8:05 PM |

I meant to post this earlier, but I couldn't find this thread! A recent quiz about allergies exactly identifies the problem that is at the root of the physical health problems a lot of middle-aged and older folks face. It's not really talked about enough, or dismissed, but it's really a major public health issue that needs more attention. And the author did an excellent job with a well-written, accessible, and engaging quiz. link https://www.funtrivia.com/trivia-quiz/SciTech/Allergies-and-Older-Folks-405126.html Reply #353. I did that one. It was very good. BTW are there hard and fast rules or requirements for an editor's choice? You could have knocked me over with a feather when Nick told me my Torvill and Dean quiz was an editor's choice. I both worked hard on it and had a lot of fun writing it, but it didn't strike me as particularly clever or unique, unlike some I've seen. So, while pleased and grateful for the honor, I do wonder what criteria obtain. Reply #354. May 30 21, 10:41 PM |

It's whatever the Editors choose. No rhyme or reason, and no two editors will necessarily have the same idea of what constitutes an award-winner. Purely subjective. :) Reply #355. May 30 21, 11:06 PM |

Per Terry's original post, please take caution in the fact that we will generally try to avoid instances where authors are self-promoting their own quizzes or the quizzes of their friends on here, especially since it's only natural for people to want to be supportive of their team members and colleagues. When authors are vocal about their collaborations and post quizzes written by those collaborators, that is something we would need to weigh into any EC consideration in that moment. Reply #360.
