Subject: Editor's Choice Nominations

Posted by: Terry
Date: Jul 09 09

Have you stumbled upon a quiz that was SO GOOD that you were amazed it wasn't an Editor's Choice?

Feel free to post suggestions of quizzes that you believe are uniquely creative, imaginative, interesting, fantastic and deserving of Editor's Choice designation.

There is NO guarantee that ANY of the quizzes posted here will receive such a designation, but we will periodically check some of these nominations out to make sure that nothing truly special slipped through the cracks.

Note that an Editor's Choice is exceptionally difficult to earn one of these designations, and that we have many thousands of well crafted, well researched quizzes that will never earn this designation.

Please post only those very few quizzes that are truly exceptional.

To try to reduce conflicts of interest and a massive list of quizzes from friends, please do NOT post quizzes from team members or people on your friends list.

I thought "24 Hours to Save the World" was one of the best new quizzes I have taken all year. I thought it was creative and very well-written.

I know, I do not see why it has no thumb. ;-)

I mean, not only are the questions expertly written, but the clues as to how to get the final question are tremendous. There is more than one way to figure it out! It is ingenious! :-)

Please remember that while this page is meant for suggestions, it is still up to the editing team to make the thumb decision. :)

I've got a quiz I'd like to nominate for the Editor's Choice distinction. It's called "When Oops Just Doesn't Quite Cover It...", and it's quite new (about 3 hours old when I played it.) It is very well researched, very well written, and very fun to play.

I thought that one was very enjoyable as well. I played it with friends laughing over my shoulder. :)

And another one, runaway_drive's "The Melt In Your Mouth Chocolate Quiz (UK)!" Be warned though, if you take this quiz, you will have a strange desire to eat chocolate.....

Hello. I would like to nominate a quiz. It is DeputyGary's "Working Class Hero". It's clever, funny, well written, a really good take on the commission title, and the incorrect multiple choice answers are great :)

New quiz (1/3/10) "Television for Sadists" by correspondguy is fantastic and in my view deserves the honor.

I totally agree with Redwallcrazy's post... lol. I wish.. Editor's choice is way out of reach for a person who has 6 sunglasses,.....

Squisher's "Kick Start My i-Heart" is one of the best written quizzes on the site and definitely deserves an Editor 's Choice.

Re: "Editor's choice is way out of reach for a person who has 6 sunglasses,....."

They don't correspond at all. One is average player ratings and the other is subjective editor choice.

It's great getting thumbs but has anyone else noticed that they don't often get the highest rankings.

Yeah, I know!

It's because they are to hard. Some people give better ratings if they go better in them. That can be annoying.

I suspect that the expectations on a quiz go up with a thumb alongside it. Some people will subconsciously rate it more harshly that they might have done otherwise - a case of "well, it wasn't THAT good" perhaps?

Yeah, that is likely.

Also, what *one* editor really liked is no indication of general player popularity. The sunglasses are a far better gauge of what the majority of people are enjoying.
