Answer: Ten days
In Daniel 1:8, the king wanted all the slaves to be fed meat and wine to build up their bodies. Daniel knew the meat and wine would first be offered to a pagan god and declined the food. Instead, Daniel asked the king's steward (who carried the title of Melzar) to feed him, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego vegetables and water for ten days. After the ten days, Melzar could test Daniel and his friends against the men that ate meat and drank wine to see who looked better. At the end of the ten days, the king saw that Daniel and his friends looked healthier than men that were fed meat and wine. For the next three years of training, Daniel and his friends were fed the continuous diet of vegetables and water.

Daniel 3:1. Did I forget to mention that Nebuchadnezzar made a golden image after the one in his dream was revealed to him? All thanks to Daniel.
From Quiz: Daniel and his Friends
Answer: four kings
Some have interpreted these kings to be representative of kingdoms, or perhaps even kingdom eras.
Imagine a vision with a lion that sported eagle's wings; a bear chewing on three ribs; a leopard with four bird's wings on its back, and a beast that defied description, other than to say that it iron teeth and ten horns!
Daniel would not have been able to have interpret this vision on his own, and had to rely on one who was standing nearby to assist him. In the 13th verse, we see that Daniel describes one "like the son of man", often seen to be representative of Jesus, according to Christian belief.
In the 15th verse, we see that the visions bothered Daniel a great deal, and he went to one of the nearby beings, (possibly the same figure of the son of man) and Daniel asked him to explain this vision to him. For the remainder of the chapter, we are made privy to the interpretation.

Answer: They would be cut into pieces and home turned into a dunghill
Nebuchadnezzar once again witnessed the awesome power of the God of the Jewish captives. Years prior, Daniel and his three friends were sustained far better than the rest of the captives by eating a diet of pulse (vegetables) and water, rather than food from the King's table. Furthermore, Daniel through God's power was the only person in the Kingdom able to recall and interpret his dream after the seers, and sorcerers failed miserably. Despite seeing God's power, he chose to exalt himself over God by erecting an idol and forcing all to worship. God always has a way of humbling the proud, while lifting up the humble.
