He was born John Henry Holliday in Griffin, Georgia on August 14, 1851. His father was a pharmacist who served in the Mexican War and the Cherokee Indian War.

His real name is Carl Hilding Severinsen and his father was a dentist. Doc really wanted to play the trombone but he only had a trumpet available to him. He went on to become a very famous trumpet player.

Answer: Julius Erving
