2. Among the members of the November Nine were two European players, both of whom also made the 2009 WSOP Europe final table. What is the name of this player from France?

Answer: Antione Saout

Antione Saout proved his November Nine seat was no fluke when he went on to final table the WSOP Europe Main Event and ended up finishing seventh in that event. Although he came to the final table in eighth chip position he played well and finished in third place, winning $3.4 million.
3. The other member of the November Nine who was from Europe and made the 2009 WSOP Europe final table was from England. Can you name him?

Answer: James Akenhead

James Akenhead had his first WSOP success finishing second to Blair Hinkle in 2008 $1,500 No Limit Event that had a field of 3,929 players. With his finishes at both 2009 WSOP Main Event tables he has solidified his position as a formidable player at the table.
4. This player's father won the 2009 WSOP Europe Main Event, making them the first father/son duo to make Main Event final tables in the same year. Who is he?

Answer: Jeff Shulman

Barry Shulman beat Daniel Negreanu heads up to win the WSOP Europe Main Event. This is Jeff Shulman's second Main Event final table. In 2000 he also made the final table and finished seventh, getting knocked out by that year's eventual winner Chris "Jesus" Ferguson. This year he improved by finishing in fifth place and winning $1.9 million, almost double what Ferguson won in 2000.
5. Can you name the November Nine member who used to work for Bear Sterns on Wall Street before the economic collapse?

Answer: Steven Begleiter

Begleiter worked for Bear Sterns for 24 years before the financial giant collapsed. He was head of corporate strategy. This final table was a chance for "Begs", as he is called by his friends, to redeem himself by succeeding in another arena. He finished sixth, getting knocked out when his pocket Queens were beaten by Moon's AQ when an Ace came on the river.
6. This November Niner from New York brings a wealth of WSOP experience with him. In 2006 he finished second in a Limit Hold'em event and in 2009 he made another final table along with Phil Ivey in the Omaha/Seven Card Stud Eight or Better event. Who is this New Yorker?

Answer: Eric Buchman

Eric Buchman came into the final table second in chips. He is a high stakes cash game player who plays mainly on the East Coast. He finished fourth and won $2.5 million.
7. This player came to the final table as the only player young enough to beat Peter Eastgate's record as the youngest player to win the Main Event. Do you know who this player is?

Answer: Joseph Cada

Joseph Cada was down to just over 2 million chips at one point at the final table but he came back to win it all. Numerous times he was all in and behind but each time he was able to outdraw his opponent. He won the Main Event eight days shy of his 22nd birthday.
8. This player held pocket Aces twice at the final table, once knocking a player out with them and once losing to pocket Kings to get knocked out himself when a King came on the flop and another on the turn to give his opponent quads. What is the name of this very unlucky player whose dream became a nightmare?

Answer: Kevin Schaffel

Kevin Schaffel had every player's dream of looking down to find pocket Aces turn into a nightmare when Eric Buchman outdrew him to send him to the rail. Although he entered the final table as the oldest player at age 50, Schaffel is a relative newcomer to poker, having only started playing seriously since 2008.
9. This pro was the crowd favorite to win despite starting the final table with only 5% of the chips in play. He is considered by many to be the best poker player in the world. Who is this famous pro?

Answer: Phil Ivey

Phil Ivey was the sentimental favorite to win it all but it was not meant to be. He was knocked out by Moon holding AK against Moon's AQ. Moon hit a Queen on the flop and Ivey could not improve his hand. Doyle Brunson claimed in a blog that losing with AK against AQ is now being called getting "moon'ed".

10. Who won the 2009 WSOP Main Event in a eerily similar fashion to Phil Hellmuth 20 years earlier, both players won holding pocket 9's on the final hand?

Answer: Joseph Cada

It is interesting that on the twentieth anniversary of Phil Hellmuth's win to become the youngest player to win the Main Event, Cada did the same thing holding the same hand, pocket 9's.
