Answer: Wilmington

The seat of New Hanover County and North Carolina's major port city, Wilmington is home to a popular campus of the University of North Carolina (UNC-Wilmington). It is also a major motion-picture and television production center. The USS North Carolina (BB-55) served with great distinction during World War II, earning 15 battle stars, and was transferred from the US Navy in 1961.

The great battleship is normally open every day for self-guided tours and serves as a memorial to all North Carolinians who died during the war.

2. The Dear Missus is behind the wheel as we approach our next stop - the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. She's enjoying herself on the slots, making enough money, in fact, for us to have a nice little dinner. In which northeastern US city is our Winnebago parked?

Answer: Atlantic City

One of a number of hotel and casino complexes in Atlantic City, New Jersey, the Borgata opened its doors in 2003. In addition to a massive gaming floor that features numerous casino favorites, the Borgata boasts a 2,400 seat event center that can host larger concerts and a 1,000 seat venue for more intimate events.

It also has numerous board rooms and meeting rooms for business meetings and conventions.

3. I'm at the wheel when we cross the Mark Twain Memorial Bridge, which carries I-72 and US Highway 36 across the Mississippi River. Going into Missouri, which city does our Winnebago wind up in?

Answer: Hannibal

Opened to traffic in September of 2000, the Mark Twain Memorial Bridge is the second bridge in Hannibal to bear that name. The first bridge, which was opened in 1936, only carried US 36 over the river. The new bridge was built to handle the extension of I-72 into the state.

In addition to being home of the famed humorist and writer, Hannibal can also boast being the home of Titanic survivor Margaret Brown (the "Unsinkable Molly Brown") and two-time NBA Coach of the Year Cotton Fitzsimmons.

4. I'm at the wheel as we pull into metropolitan Los Angeles. In a moment of nostalgia, I decide to go back to the scene of my national television debut, at the Sony Pictures Studios. To which suburb of Los Angeles do I have to drive the Winnebago?

Answer: Culver City

Originally owned by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, and later owned by Warner Bros, the Sony Pictures Studios house Columbia Pictures, TriStar Pictures, and Sony Pictures Television. The second incarnation of "Jeopardy!", starring Alex Trebek, is taped there, as is "Wheel of Fortune". I was a contestant on "Jeopardy!" during the first week of the show's 26th season - Episode No. 5750, which aired on Friday, September 18, 2009.

5. The Dear Missus wants to watch some college football, but she doesn't want to brave the elements of an outdoor stadium. So she pulls up to the Kibbie Dome and we buy a couple tickets for a Saturday-afternoon tilt. On which college campus is our Winnebago parked?

Answer: University of Idaho

Opened as an outdoor facility in 1971, the Kibbie Dome was finally enclosed in 1975. It was named for construction executive William H. Kibbie, who had to drop out of the University of Idaho because of family hardships, but became the facility's biggest benefactor during its fundraising drive. For many years, it has been the smallest major-college football venue in the United States, seating just under 18,000 people.

When in basketball configuration, the facility is known as the Cowan Spectrum, after benefactors Bob and Jan Cowan.

6. The Dear Missus and I are in the mood to do a little shopping. So she pulls the Winnebago into Turtle Creek Mall, where she gets a new football jersey and I pick up the latest video game. In which Southern US city is our Winnebago parked?

Answer: Hattiesburg, Mississippi

Located along US Highway 98 on the west side of town, Turtle Creek Mall features nearly 850,000 square feet of leasable space and is anchored by Belk, Dillard's, JCPenney and Sears. According to the mall's official website, over eight million people enjoy the shops and other amenities at the mall each year. Turtle Creek Mall is only a few miles from the University of Southern Mississippi, one of the state's largest institutions of higher learning.

7. The big hole in the ground is not exciting to the Dear Missus. I, however, am smiling with glee as we pull up to the visitors' center for Meteor Crater, one of the best known impact structures on Earth. Near what town have we parked the Winnebago?

Answer: Winslow, Arizona

Also known as Canyon Diablo Crater and Barringer Crater, Meteor Crater is about 4,000 feet (1,200 meters) in diameter and 570 feet (170 meters) deep. It was believed to have been formed by a predominantly iron meteorite with a diameter of 164 feet (50 meters).

The late geologist Eugene Shoemaker was the first to conclusively prove that the crater was formed by cosmic impact and not by volcanic forces.

8. The Dear Missus and I enjoy watching planes take off and land. So we pull our well-traveled Winnebago into the parking lot of Gerald R. Ford International Airport and take advantage of the observation areas available there. In which Michigan city is the Winnebago parked?

Answer: Grand Rapids

Boasting three runways, including a 10,000-footer, Gerald R. Ford International Airport was originally opened in November 1963 as Kent County Airport. Flights from the airport, which has the FAA identifier GRR, connect Grand Rapids to a number of cities, including Atlanta, Chicago (O'Hare), Denver, Detroit, and Toronto.

The airport was named for the 38th President of the United States in 1999.

9. The Dear Missus, being a big sports fan, has driven us to the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame and Museum, to enjoy some exhibits there and pay homage to some of the commonwealth's athletic heroes. In which city is the Winnebago parked?

Answer: Portsmouth

The Virginia Sports Hall of Fame and Museum's charter class of 1972 included 1940 NFL MVP Clarence "Ace" Parker and Dr. Robert "Whirlwind" Johnson, mentor and coach to future tennis hall-of-famers Arthur Ashe and Althea Gibson. Ashe is also in the Virginia hall, along with longtime Redskins coach George Allen, basketball stars Anne Donovan and Nancy Lieberman, and longtime Cincinnati Reds broadcaster Marty Brennaman.

10. The last stop we make before we head home to Charlotte, NC is to grab some hamburger steak sandwiches at Char-Grill, a fast-food institution. In fact, we enjoy the meal in the Winnebago, right in front of Char-Grill's original location, in which North Carolina city?

Answer: Raleigh

The original Char-Grill was opened on Hillsborough Street, not far from the old state capitol, in 1959. It didn't take long for the restaurant to become a favorite of students at NC State, but it took almost thirty years for the owners to open a second location.

The sixth location, located in the suburb of Cary, is the first franchised location. Char-Grill has received numerous awards and accolades over the years for its menu selections.
