Doric's initial wild shape is as an owlbear. When she is being chased by Sofina trying to escape Neverwinter, she shape shifts into multiple different animals, including a cat, a mouse, a bird, a deer, and an Axe Beak, which is a flightless bird, like an ostrich, that is specific to "Dungeons & Dragons".

The gelatinous cube, mimic, and displacer beast are all monsters that have been part of the franchise for a long time and/or are loved by players. The maze has treasure chests with weapons, but one of the boxes them ends up being a mimic who attacks. The displacer beasts are roaming the maze and creating duplicates of themselves to trick their prey.

While the gelatinous cube is highly dangerous but becomes useful as they are able to escape into it, allowing Doric to wild shape into a snake, escape the cube, and then pull them out in her human form.

Their original plan is to find Kira and steal Forge's treasure, which is on a boat. When they see what Sofina casting the Beckoning Death, which emits a crimson cloud, with the intention of killing everyone in the coliseum below her. They use the teleportation staff they received earlier in the film from Holga's ex-husband and create a portal so that the stolen treasures will fall out of the hot air balloon floating above the city with Forge's smug face on it.

Edgin's intention from the start is to bring Zia back so that Kira will have a mother. But after Holga is stabbed with Sofina's Red Wizard blade, which is fatal, he realizes that he would be bringing back his wife more for him than for her, but that they both need Holga more.

At the beginning of the film, Edgin and Holga escape the prison by tackling Jarnathan, a member of the parole panel, and use his ability of flight to ensure they land safely below. However, when Forge tries the same tactic at the end of the film he discovers that that window had been covered by stone, thus sending Forge back to his cell, no longer eligible for any kind of release.
