4. Two "Dr. Who" films were made in the 1960s. Who played the Doctor in both of them?
From Quiz Dr. Who In The Movies
Answer:
Peter Cushing
As played by Peter Cushing, the Doctor is an Earth based scientist and inventor whose surname is actually Who, rather than a time travelling Time Lord. He has invented TARDIS, as opposed to The Tardis, and although it is still bigger on the inside than the outside, inside is all wires, lights, switches and equipment rather than a space with a central console.
Peter Cushing had a long acting career, but will probably be best remembered for his appearances as vampire hunter Dr. Van Helsing, opposite Christopher Lee as Dracula, in a series of films made by Hammer House of Horror. He also played Baron Frankenstein in Hammer's first colour horror film, which led to several sequels. Away from Hammer Horror films he appeared as Sherlock Holmes in the 1959 film, "The Hound of The Baskervilles", and, in 1977, as Grand Moff Tarkin in "Star Wars".
