She also said that her husband was working on his second novel. Mrs. Connelly replied cynically that she had always thought that writing was just a hobby and not a real profession.

According to the encyclopedia, the macaw was a type of parrot.

Alex was being kind and he asked Mrs. Connelly if there was anything he could help her with. Mrs. Connelly said he could actually lend her a hand by helping her throw out her garbage. Alex was extremely annoyed by Mrs. Connelly because he could have spent his time writing his novel.

When Mrs. Connelly regained consciousness, she saw Alex's lips were smeared with her lipstick and Nancy's hands were on her chest. She called the police. Officer Dan came and he warned both Alex and Nancy not to take advantage of the senior citizen.

Alex asked for help from Coop but he turned down his request. He had no choice but to sell most of the furniture in his house. He also sold his entire book collection. Just then, Officer Dan showed up outside Alex's apartment with a group of carolers.

Alex and Nancy were terrified when Officer Dan said he had something that he wanted to give to Mrs. Connelly. Nancy hit Alex hard in his face to distract Officer Dan.

Mrs. Connelly sensed that she was in danger. She prepared herself with her antique harpoon gun. The harpoon hit Chick, sending him running away in pain.

Kenneth the realtor would sell the duplex apartment at a very low price. Most people would accept the offer because the apartment was spacious and beautiful. Then, Mrs. Connelly would start making trouble. When they could not bear it anymore, they would eventually sell their apartment at a loss and then move out.

Towards the end of the movie, Mrs. Connelly was having dinner with her son, Kenneth, and Officer Dan. Mrs. Connelly admitted that it was very difficult for her to hold her breath for such a long time when she was faking her death. She told Kenneth that she wanted more commission next time.
