"Sing" was a song written for TV show "Sesame Street". In 1973, the Carpenters popularized this song which reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100.
"For All We Know" was recorded by several artists including Petula Clark. The best-known version was by the Carpenters, reaching number three on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1971.
"Hurting Each Other" was released as a single in late 1971, reaching number two on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1972. The song was ranked as number 65 by Billboard in 1972 Year-end chart.
In 1970, "(They Long to Be) Close to You" was released, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for four weeks and 11 weeks in the Top Ten. The song was named Billboard's Song of the Summer for 1970. "Close to You" album won the Carpenters a Grammy for Best New Artist and another Grammy for Best Contemporary Vocal by a Duo or Group at the 13th annual Grammy awards in 1971.
