Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. OK, 'The Letter' is key to the start of this quiz. I was watching the video to this song on a famous video playing website and it got me thinking, "where will I be in 14 questions' time if I use the first song on the list seen on the right hand side of this said website?"
So it is important to remember that 'The Letter' was a hit for this band in 1967; can you name them?
2. The next track was top of the list from the previous question and this has to go down as one of my favourite tracks of all time. You see, in autumn all the leaves are brown, but in the song it's a winter's day, they say.
This was a huge worldwide hit for the group The Mamas and the Papas in 1965. What is the song?
3. Now with the previous song being of a certain genre it is not at all surprising to have yet another classic hitting the list at a right rate of knots.
This Animals classic certainly is one we all tap our feet to, in particular those in New Orleans. Where am I?
4. Now don't be getting all 'moody' if you haven't done any good so far, but I am sure the 'blues' will soon be blown away by this classic tune from 1967.
Which song is the biggest selling for the group hinted at above?
5. Alannah Myles loved to belt out that superb voice to the one song that won her a Grammy in 1990.

9. The list has changed to a different beat now, that of Brit Pop big time style. Now we have Oasis as the daddy of Brit Pop but you can bet this group would argue the case - remember the song that was labelled as 'Song 2'? I wonder what 'Song 1' was?
Name the band please?

Talking Heads were the band, but which one of these gems am I listening to now?

Do you have any idea who the band is?
14. The list is getting to the end now. This song evokes memories of my childhood and the video was pretty controversial at the time. During the 80s we had the AIDS epidemic and the public health video which upset a lot of people. This song showed a young man travelling around the country looking for 'love' and sometimes getting a beating for his homosexual tendencies. This 'Smalltown Boy' was a stunning club classic, but by whom?
15. Well my little list comes to an end and it's been FUN listening to some of the tunes of my youth. Some have been reminders of good times and some reminders of not so good times but this last one for me is wonderful. This tune is fantastic with a "texture like sun", "to distant lands takes both my hands". Some say it is drug related, but even if it is, the music surpasses the message, whatever it may be. Any ideas as to who this last tune maybe sung by?
