Eddie Cochran had a number one hit on the UK chart with "Three Steps To Heaven" in 1960. It did not chart in the US.

"Three Steps To Heaven" was the second posthumous UK number one hit. The first was "It Doesn't Matter Anymore" by Eddie's friend and fellow American Buddy Holly. Eddie Cochran was killed in a one vehicle car crash in Wiltshire UK barely a month before, in which singer Gene Vincent and Eddie's fiance Sharon Sheeley (writer of "Poor Little Fool" for Ricky Nelson) were injured.
