In 1958 "Rebel 'Rouser" became Duane Eddy's first US Top Ten Instrumental single. The following year "Forty Miles of Bad Road" reached Number Nine on the US charts. In 1960 the movie soundtrack single "Because They're Young" reached Number Four, becoming Eddy's highest charting US single release. Duane also released television and movie related songs including the theme from "Peter Gunn" (1960), "Gidget Goes Hawaiian" (1961), "The Ballad Of Paladin" (1962) and "Theme From Dixie" (1960).
In 1959, Eddy's debut album, "Have Twangy Guitar Will Travel", reached Number Five and stayed on the album charts for more than 80 weeks.

Aretha released "Think" in 1968. The song was later used in the 1980 "Blues Brothers" movie. Merrilee Rush and The Turnabouts had a 1968 hit with "Angel of the Morning". "Piece of My Heart" was a 1968 hit from Big Brother and The Holding Company
