Her full name is Cindy Mackenzie. Her nickname Mac most likely came from her last name although Mac has defended the Mac OS computer system. When Veronica first needed help with computers, she asked the teacher of a computer class but was directed to Mac. "The person you want to talk to is Mac. Try the parking lot, look for the blue hair."

Mac never explicitly confessed to being the developer. However, when Veronica first met Mac, she was driving a wreck of a car, and later is seen driving a new beetle. Veronica called it a victimless crime for taking the rich kids' allowance money. Other Neptune High students used the web site for their nefarious purposes. Veronica made them pay.

Veronica uncovered the tidbit about Mac's and Madison's pasts. Mac became jealous of Madison not for her charmed life but how Mac seemingly connected instantly with her birth family. When the prom was cancelled, Mac thought she was saved until Butters got word of Logan's anti-prom.

Parker and Mac were opposites from the beginning, but Parker was determined to befriend Mac. Veronica overheard Parker's rape but misread the situation based on Mac's description of Parker and failed to stop it. Mac felt extremely guilty and pleaded with Parker to stay at Hearst despite the circumstances. The two became friends.

Although Mac appeared in all three seasons, Majorino was not included in the opening credits until the third and final season. She was a famous child actress and was in several movies, including "When a Man Loves a Woman" and "Corrina, Corrina". On Mac's myspace page, she listed "Napolean Dynamite" as a favorite movie.
