Aaron Echolls was a famous action movie star. As Veronica said, "you might have his action figure". Aaron was an abusive and neglectful parent. Half-sister Trina, seemed to disbelieve Logan's stories. Many of Logan's struggles were to not become like his father. While Logan enjoyed his wealth and status, he hated the paparazzi that came with his father's film career.

Flashbacks before Lilly's death revealed that while Veronica dated Duncan the four were a very close bunch. Another flashback showed that Logan saw Veronica's choice to stay by her father as a smack in the face to that friendship. Logan conceded that he was probably more in love with Lilly than the other way around.

His friendship with Duncan continued after Lilly's murder but was tried by the love triangle with Veronica.

Logan hired homeless men to participate in bare fisted boxing for the enjoyment of his friends. When the news about the fights made the web site, Logan was the star. Aaron was furious and forced Logan to volunteer at a soup kitchen to fight the negative publicity. Amused by his father's hypocrisy, Logan announced that his father would make a generous donation as well which earned him a beating at home.

Logan's mother, Lynn, committed suicide by jumping off a bridge. Logan believed this was faked and that she was looking for a way out of her marriage. Veronica was sympathetic and supportive as the news seemed to be that her suicide was not faked. Later, she refused to take money from Logan, because Mrs. Echolls had always been nice to her.

Veronica was tracking Ben, who she believed was planning to bomb the school. While on surveillance, Ben caught her and forced her to go to the Camelot Motel. Fortunately for Veronica, he did not realize that she was on the phone to Logan at the time, dropping the cell fast enough for him not to see. Logan, overhearing Ben, rushed over to the motel to rescue Veronica.

After the Ben crisis, they shared their first real kiss on the motel balcony. Veronica gave Logan a peck on the cheek at the Neptune Grand earlier while trying to track down Logan's mother, but this was the first time Logan kissed Veronica. Plus the Neptune Grand incident was only to put on the act that they were engaged.

At the end of season one, Weevil took his gang to confront Logan, which became the cliffhanger into season two. Weevil was knocked out quickly, but then Logan was beaten up by the rest of the Pacific Coast Highway gang. When he came to, Felix was dead, and Logan had a knife in his hand.

His acquittal became a source of class warfare during the season which led to Veronica breaking up with him. On a side note, Logan was arrested for Lilly Kane's murder as well, but this occurred in season one.

Kendall was Dick and Beaver's step-mother. After her husband fled the country, she became penniless, dependent on Dick, Beaver and Logan. Logan was obviously never interested in Kendall emotionally and used her as a pawn against Veronica. Once Kendall became financially needy, he made it clear that he had no interest in supporting her.

When Logan confessed to Dick about the affair, Dick had no issues as he had "perved" on Logan's mother.

While at the anti-prom, Logan gave this speech to Veronica in a play to win back her affection. "I thought our story was epic, you know. You and me. Spanning years and continents. Lives ruined and blood shed. Epic. But summer's almost here and we won't see each other all. And then you'll leave town, and then... it's over." The next morning, Veronica, who initially turned him down, changed her mind, but Logan had unfortunately forgotten the whole incident. Fortunately he saved her life at the end of season two and their relationship.

Logan was informed that his money was shrinking faster than he thought. He hired Veronica to track down where the money was being taken out. She finally discovered that it was all going to one man, Charlie Stone, Logan's half-brother courtesy of his father.

In an attempt to connect, a fake Charlie bonded with Logan. Logan believed that Charlie had betrayed him, and so he betrayed Charlie. Veronica eventually told him the truth that Charlie was innocent, but it was too late to reconcile.
