As the award required the recipient to have demonstrated good leadership skills, Steven couldn't in all honesty recommend John for the award.

Later that day, in class, John attacked another student who was taunting him. John ended up biting off a part of the student's ear and was sent to the guidance counselor, in addition to being suspended.

John ended up taking pills while at home. His father found him, but the paramedics couldn't get a pulse and he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Juan explained that he was only trying to do what Harry did - start talking about something to make the students think he was cool, then slip in some education. Juan wanted to teach about Ponce de Leon and complained that there was never anything about Puerto Rico in the textbooks.
