No missing bleeder valve needed this time. Laura wanted Guthrie out of the way before he identified her as the evil creature she was, the source of Elizabeth's illness. She sabotaged his car with her mental powers and left him to die in a fiery crash.

Dr. Guthrie had specifically chosen these three: Sam because Josette had probably influenced his paintings of Laura in flames, Vicky because Josette had spoken through her at the previous séance, and David because he was the one who usually encountered Josette's ghost.

Vicky was frantic when the ghost of Josette gave her the clue of David being in "a small house by the sea" that would burn down. Finally, in the nick of time, she worked out that David was at the fishing shack.

Mason was one of Barnabas's victims, Keitel danced at the Blue Whale, and Vigoda was an enthusiastic early Collinsport silversmith. Nixon was probably too busy back then to pay a visit to any TV show in production.
