Answer: "Carrie"

The Others are holding a book club meeting, in one of their homes. The book, that they are discussing is Stephen King's, "Carrie." Adam, one of the Others, vehemently criticizes the selection of this book, for their book club discussion. He says, that Ben wouldn't even read it in the bathroom. Juliet replies, "Well, Adam, I am the host and I do pick the book. And this is my favorite book. So I am absolutely thrilled that you can't stand it. Silly me, for sinking so low as to select something that Ben wouldn't like."

Answer: "Of Mice and Men"

They both say to each other, at different times, "Don't you read?" Ben misses Sawyer's reference to George, one of the main characters in "Of Mice and Men," and Sawyer taunts him with, "What, don't you read? It's from Of Mice and Men. You'd like it. Puppy's get killed." Later, Ben quotes a passage, from the same novel, which Sawyer, apparently doesn't recognize. Ben retorts, "It's from 'Of Mice and Men.' Don't you read? Come on, let's get you back to your cage." This is from the episode, "Every Man for Himself."

John confronts Ben about the existence of Jacob. Ben says that, no one has ever seen Jacob. John tells Ben, "How convenient. You know what I think, Ben? I think there is no Jacob. I think your people are idiots, if they believe you take orders from someone else. You are the man behind the curtain, the Wizard of Oz. And you're a liar." Ben, then demands, that they go see Jacob, together.

"Through the Looking Glass," is the title of the season three finale of "Lost." The "Looking Glass," is also the name of an underwater DHARMA station. This station's logo has a picture of a rabbit, in the center.

Jack is skeptical, and tells John, "Don't tell me you believe this. This is crazy. You think that makes sense, pushing a button? You're going to take his word for it? Desmond says that they should watch the orientation film. He tells them, that the film is behind, "The Turn of the Screw," on the bookshelf.

Sawyer mentions this book, when he accosts Jin, for allegedly burning the raft. Sawyer tells Jin, "Folks down on the beach might have been doctors and accountants a month ago, but it's 'Lord of the Flies' time, now."

A pair of glasses for Sawyer has to be made from a composite of several different lenses and frames. Sawyer tries them on, and Hurley says, "Dude, it looks like someone steamrolled Harry Potter."

Answer: "Our Mutual Friend"

Desmond's copy of "Our Mutual Friend," is returned to him, after his stint in military prison. The official returning Desmond's belongings is curious as to why Desmond didn't read the book, while he was imprisoned. Desmond replies, "To avoid temptation, brother. I've read everything Mr. Charles Dickens has ever written - every wonderful word. Every book except this one. I'm saving it, so it will be the last thing I ever read before I die."

Ben enters the room, where Ben is being held, and lays a book, beside Ben. John says, "I thought you might like something to read." After looking at the copy of "The Brothers Karamazov," Ben says, "You don't have any Stephen King?"
Ben replies, that the library is a bit outdated. The creators and executive producers of "Lost," cite Stephen King, as being one of their favorite authors.

Answer: "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"

Despite Sawyer's background, he is an enthusiastic and prolific reader. He is often seen reading, whatever he can find. Many of his nicknames for the other survivors, derive from references to literature.
