Answer: backgammon

In the pilot episode, John is explaining the game of backgammon to Walt. John says, "Backgammon is the oldest game in the world. Archaeologists found sets when they excavated the ruins of ancient Mesopotamia. Five thousand years old." John can also be seen playing as a child in the episode, "Cabin Fever."

Answer: False

In the episode, "The Economist," Jack wants to know if the Red Sox really won the world series. Frank replies, "Hey, don't get me started on that, alright? My dad's from the Bronx. I bleed Yankee blue," indicating that he is a die-hard New York Yankees' fan.
