Answer: In "Special", Michael burns Walt's French comic book

Walt's comic book was Spanish and not French. In the beginning of the episode, Michael is building the first raft with Walt's help. Later, other people are helping Michael, including Shannon. In a later scene, Walt gets lost in the forest and has to be rescued by Locke and Michael when a polar bear attacks him. We see during several scenes that strange things seem to happen when Walt is around.

This is illustrated when Walt is studying birds and gets upset that his mom and step dad aren't paying attention to him and suddenly a bird flies into the glass window.

In the scene in which Michael burns the comic book, Walt watches it burn and the close up reveals a polar bear. Later in the episode, a polar bear appears. Walt's step father also mentions to Michael that strange things seem to happen when Walt is around.

Answer: Hurley is annoyed when his CD player runs out of batteries

Hurley's disc-man/CD player did run out of batteries, but it occurred at the end of the episode prior to this one and we do not see it during this episode. At the very beginning of the episode, Hurley can be seen helping Jin and Michael build the second raft.

He later steals some papers from Sayid after seeing his lottery numbers on them. In the middle of the episode, after leaving the camp to go in search of the French lady, Hurley lands atop of a booby trap left by Rousseau and must quickly jump off before being impaled by the hanging the trap.

Answer: Hurley faints at the sight of Boone's massive injuries

Hurley doesn't faint, but he looks like he is about to faint when Jack yells at him not to faint. As you may remember, Hurley is slightly hemophobic and faints when he sees blood. We first witnessed this when Jack operated on the marshal and Hurley fainted right on top of him. Sun and Jack do argue about whether to amputate Boone's leg or not. Jin and Sun do interact for the first time since "In Translation" when Jin learned she had been keeping her English a secret. Michael, Walt, and Sawyer do enjoy some fire roasted fish while sitting around the campfire.

They also invite Jin to join them, but Jin is too busy working on the raft.

Answer: Locke tells a boy at the toy store that his favourite game as a child was Backgammon

Locke actually tells the boy that his favourite game was Mousetrap as a child. After Locke's mother talks to him in the toy store and he sees her outside in the parking lot, they go out for a cup of coffee. Locke and his biological dad go out hunting in some grassy fields for doves.

It is unknown whether Locke had an affinity for hunting prior to this little outing or whether he developed it later because of it. Locke does indeed carry Boone on his shoulders back to camp. You can see him carrying Boone as he enters the caves, and once he puts Boone down, you can see the blood stains on Locke's shirt at his shoulders.

Answer: Hurley tells Sawyer he will never be able to pick open the lock on the silver briefcase

It's actually Michael who tells Sawyer he won't be able to pick the lock on the case. When Hurley happens by, Michael explains that Sawyer is trying to pick the lock and Hurley laughs at him. The rising tide in this episode is threatening to wash away all the beach dwellers' possessions and everyone scrambles up the beach with their things. Kate let's Sawyer keep the briefcase that they found. Later, Kate wants the briefcase back, and after two failed attempts to steal the briefcase from Sawyer, Sawyer offers her the above proposition, saying that he doesn't really care what's in the briefcase, he just wants to know why it means so much to her. Sayid and Shannon do begin translating the French words on the maps that Sayid took from Rousseau. Shannon later reveals to Sayid that the words were actually lyrics for the song "La Mer".

Answer: Claire voices her concern that Charlie might be shell shocked

It was actually Hurley who approached Sayid about Charlie being shell shocked. Hurley asks Sayid to talk to Charlie because he has experience with post traumatic stress syndrome. When Sawyer is tackled by the boar, he vows revenge and packs his gun to go into the forest after it. Kate, who can't help but laugh at the situation, suggests to Sawyer he tell Locke about the boar so that Locke can kill it. Sawyer first heard the whispered voices in the forest during the first scene, and having recalled Sayid saying he had also heard voices, Sawyer asks Sayid about it.

When Kate and Sawyer camp out in the forest, they wake up to find that Sawyer's things have been scattered all over the camp by the boar. As Sawyer bends to pick stuff up, a noise from the brush alerts him and he grabs his gun and points it at a bush.

He continues pointing even after Locke pops out with his hands up before finally lowering his weapon.

Answer: Boone hallucinates that Shannon gets mauled and killed by the polar bear

Boone actually hallucinated that the mysterious invisible dinosaur type monster mauled and killed Shannon. The polar bear did not appear in this episode. During Boone's hallucination, the monster chased them for a while before grabbing onto Shannon and pulling her into the air.

In another scene, Kate learns that Sun can speak English while planting seeds in the garden. Sun begs her not to tell anyone. Sayid presents Shannon with a gift for her help with the French translations, all the while Boone is keeping a careful watch on the interactions between the two. Hurley is suffering from some digestive problems because of the lack of protein in his diet and he consults Jack about how to ease his rumbling tummy.

Answer: Sun tells Kate that Jin has changed because of working for her father

Although the viewers know that it was the job with Sun's father that changed Jin, we don't know if Sun knows this as well. Kate does ask Sun what changed Jin, but before Sun can say anything, Charlie runs past and alerts them that the raft is on fire. Earlier in the episode, Jack approaches Michael about who he is going to take on the raft with him and Michael explains that there are only 4 spots available on the raft and that three have already been taken; one for himself, Walt, and one that Sawyer bought.

This leaves only one spot open. After Sun slaps Michael on the beach for interfering with her and Jin's argument, Jin sits by the waterfall as Sun changes clothes and asks her what is going on between her and Michael. Later, while Boone is building a bonfire, Sayid approaches him to tell him that there is a possibility he and Shannon may become more than friends. Boone wonders if Sayid was asking for his blessing, but Sayid tells him that he was merely extending a courtesy.

Answer: Boone guesses that Locke was either a taxidermist or a US marine in the real world

Boone actually guessed Locke was either a taxidermist or a hitman. Boone had asked Locke what he did in the real world and Locke asked him to guess. When Boone told him his guesses, Locke laughed and explained that he was a regional collections supervisor for a box company.

While out looking for Claire and Charlie, Jack blames himself for their abduction because he did not believe Claire when she said someone was after her. Locke then blames himself for their abduction because he had spent a lot of time with Ethan and had not noticed he was dangerous.

In the beginning of the episode, Jack and Locke do find Claire's bag in the forest and Jack explains that Claire was moving back to the beach because she did not feel safe in the caves.

Answer: Claire confides to Kate that her baby hasn't kicked since the crash

Claire was actually talking to Shannon when she discusses her baby. Shannon is tanning on the beach and Claire watches her and says, "I used to have a stomach." Shannon then looks at her and Claire tells her the baby hasn't kicked since the crash. Charlie and Sayid are sitting by a fire as Sayid says to Charlie that someone should have come by now.

When Charlie asks who should have come by now, Sayid responds by saying "anyone". Charlie, Kate, and Jack go out into the jungle to find the cockpit and hopefully the transceiver.

They manage to find both, as well as a whole lot of trouble when the monster attacks them. Locke helps Jack pull out a man who is pinned under some plane wreckage. Jack sees his bleeding leg and pulls his tie off to tie around the leg and slow the bleeding.
