Road Blocks of "The Amazing Race 10" Quiz

Teams flew from Seattle, Washington to the city of Beijing, China in the beginning of the very first leg of the race. Upon their arrival, teams were required to travel to the Gold House Restaurant where one member of each team would complete the Road Block task (clearly an eating task).

This selected member needed to receive a bowl of fish heads and eat only the eyes before receiving their clue. Karlyn, Duke, Peter, Mary, James, Jamie, Tom, Kandice, Rob, Vipul, Bilal, and Erwin finished this first task before teams headed to the leg's impromptu midway point at the Meridian Gate of the Forbidden City.

Here, in a surprising twist, Bilal and Sa'eed were eliminated from the race at a midway mat leaving only eleven teams in the race.

Answer: Flowers

In Leg 3, teams made their way from the infamous 'Hanoi Hilton' to a flower shop located in the Old Quarter of Hoan Kiem, a marketplace in Hanoi. Here, one member of each team needed to select a bicycle and sell flowers to locals to accumulate 80,000 Vietnamese Dong, the equivalent of about $5 (USD). Once they finished this task, teams could keep the money they earned from the task and travel by bus to the village of Phố Vác to complete their Detour. Peter, Rob, Kandice, James, Erwin, Tom, Lyn, David, and Duke completed this Road Block task.

In Leg 4, teams needed to complete tasks in the Ha Long region of Vietnam with teams coming across their Road Block task at Hon Yen Ngua. Here, one member of each team was required to harness themselves into a mechanical ascender and ascend ninety feet up the side of a cliff face to receive their clue at the top. Once they completed this, they needed to rappel down with the clue to carry on to their Detour task at Sung Sot Cave. Dave, Terry, Rob, Sarah, Godwin, Karlyn, Tyler, and Dustin completed the task. Three team members could ascend at any one time, first come, first serve.

Answer: Drive

In Chennai, India, teams made their way to the clue box outside Karthik Driving School to discover the Road Block task for this leg required that one member participate in a driver's education class and then hop behind the wheel to navigate the streets of India on the left-hand-side of the road. Once the participating team member successfully passed the driving course and returned to the school, they would receive the clue directing them to the Pit Stop, the Chettinad House. Peter, Dustin, Rob, Godwin, Lyn, Tyler, and David finished this task and drove in India.

Answer: Six

Teams found their next Road Block clue at the top of the Kuwait Towers. Here, teams took a number and, in order, had one member climb the ladder around the dome of the tower, 610 feet above the ground, and claim a satchel of puzzle pieces. Then, they needed to head to the ground to find a chest containing more pieces and a puzzle template where they could complete the task and spell out the location of their next clue in Arabic. Kimberly, Karlyn, Sarah, Kandice, Erwin, and Tyler climbed this one, then headed to Souk Al-Gharabally. Neither David nor Mary completed this task as they had claimed the Fast Forward.

Answer: Bus

In Leg 8, teams found themselves in Antananarivo, Madagascar where racers discovered the Road Block task after the race's first-ever Intersection twist. For this Road Block, team members needed to go through Tohotohobato Ambondrona Analakely to find four vendors with different rubber stamps: a plane, a train, a boat, and a car. Once teams received all four stamps on their clue, they could receive a clue leading them to the next Pit Stop, Cathedral Andohalo. Because both Tyler and James and Rob and Kimberly received the Fast Forward clue while Intersected, they did not complete the Road Block. Of the remaining teams, Dustin, Godwin, Mary, and Lyn finished the task.

Answer: Limestone

In the first half of Leg 9, teams reached Tytyrin Limestone Mine in Lohja, Finland to find the first Road block task of this double-length leg of the race. In this task, team members needed to hop onto a bike and ride into the mine until they found a marked area containing specific limestone blocks.

They then needed to tie the limestone to their bike, ride it back up the hill, then smash it open with provided tools to receive their clue inside. After the Road Block, teams rappelled down the side of Helsinki's Olympic Tower. James, Kandice, Karlyn, Godwin, and Rob all completed this Road Block task.

Answer: Rob

In Leg 9, teams needed to make their way to Kiev, Ukraine at which point they would find their clues in old Russian cars in the airport parking lot. The clue, written in Ukrainian, led them to the Oster Tank School where one member of each team needed to hop into a T-64 tank and ride through a 1.2 mile training course to receive their next clue.

The task was completed by Dustin, James, Kimberly, Godwin, and Lyn. After this Road Block, teams needed to return to Kiev to locate a specific apartment building in the city.

Answer: Camel meat

In Leg 11, teams headed from the Pit Stop to the Quartier des Habous in Casablanca, Morocco (275 miles across the Atlas Mountains) where one member of each team needed to take a pound of camel meat from a butcher stand to a local cafe, grind it, season it, and skewer it, so that a chef could prepare it as a meal.

When the team member ate their quantity of camel meat, they would receive their next clue instructing them to fly to Barcelona, Spain. James, Kandice, Kimberly, and Lyn finished this one.

Answer: Skydive

In Leg 12, teams made their way from the Eiffel Tower in Paris to the city of Caen by train to find a regional airport. Here, one member of each team was required to complete the final Road Block task of the race in which they needed to perform a tandem skydive from 13,000ft. then land on Omaha Beach in Normandy. Tyler, Karlyn, and Kimberly completed this task before returning to Paris for a final Detour task.

The team member not completing the Road Block would ascend in the plane with their teammate and would be required to perform a nosedive before landing.
