"The Amazing Race 10" [1] Trivia Quiz

In this eleventh leg of the race, teams began at the starting line in Gas Works Park, the finish line for the third season of the show. Teams were told to head to the airport and take one of the two assigned planes to Beijing, China. Once there, teams needed to take a taxi to the Gold House Restaurant where they would obtain their next clue. Six teams were placed on each flight.

Answer: Fish Eyes

At the Gold House Restaurant, teams had their first Road Block. Here, they had to choose one person who was hungry to stay in the race. Once the team member was chosen, they had to eat fish eyes from a bowl of cooked fish heads. Once all of their fish eyes were eaten they'd receive their next clue leading them to the Meridian Gate in the Forbidden City of Beijing.

Answer: Bilal and Sa'eed

Teams raced for a time at Meridian Gate that would tell them when they departed the following morning. The final team to arrive and pick their time was Bilal and Sa'eed, and although they didn't actually arrive at a Pit Stop, Phil told them that they were the first team to be eliminated during the race.

This was the first of many surprises mentioned at the beginning of the race. The following morning, teams departed at 7:00, 7:15, and 7:30.

Departing from Meridian Gate, teams had to travel to the intersection of 14 Hou Hai and North Bank Road. Here, teams needed to find a pedicab manager for their Detour. This Detour has the choice between 'Labour' and 'Leisure'. In 'Labour', teams had to take a pedicab one mile to a marketplace where they had to pave a 45 square foot of space with bricks. Nine teams completed this task.

In 'Leisure', teams had to travel two miles by pedicab in order to find a group of people participating in a new form of exercise. Once they completed the rhythmic movements, they would receive their next clue. Two teams completed this task.

After the Detour, teams traveled by taxi to the Pit Stop at Juyongguan, an entrance to the Great Wall of China. Before checking in, teams needed to climb up one side of the wall. At the top, teams found Phil and the mat. The first team to arrive, Tyler and James, won $20,000.

The eleventh team to arrive, Vipul and Arti, became the second team to be eliminated; the first at a Pit Stop.

In Leg 2, teams departed from Juyongguan and were told to travel 963 miles by bus and train to outer Mongolia and the capital city of the country, Ulaanbaatar. Teams took one of two buses, both departing two hours apart to Erenhot, China and took trains to Mongolia. Once in Ulaanbaatar, teams had to visit a temple and attend a local ceremony which would occur every ten minutes.

After attending a Mongolian ceremony, teams were told to travel to the village of Terelj in a Russian army Jeep. Here, teams had to drive to the riverbed where they could dress in Mongolian attire and saddle up onto horses and ride two and a half miles to their next clue in a local meadow. On the way to the village, teams had trouble with their cars, and their horses causing them to fall behind.

At Terelj, teams found the Detour which had the choices 'Take It Down' and 'Fill It Up'. In 'take It Down', teams needed to take a nomad shelter apart, fold up the pieces and tie them to a camel with the proper knots. Teams completing this task were Edwin and Godwin, Duke and Lauren, Kellie and Jamie, and Peter and Sarah.

In 'Fill It Up', teams needed to take a local yak-like creature and have it pull metal pails of water 500 yards to a river. Teams then needed to fill their pails and bring them back to fill a marked container. teams completing this task were Dustin and Kandice, Duke and Lauren, Tyler and James, Lyn and Karlyn, David and Mary, Tom and Terry, and Rob and Kimberly.

After the Detour, teams needed to drive to the Hotel Mongolia in a town forty-seven miles away. During th Road Block, teams were instructed to 'Aim High'. For the task, teams had to shoot flaming arrows and hit target on the ground. Peter, Tyler, Lauren, Tom, Kimberly, Dustin, David, Godwin, Lyn, and Kellie participated in this task.

After the Road Block, teams ran to a nearby pavilion, the Pit Stop for the second leg of the race. Sarah and Peter arrived first and won a trip for two to Mexico from Travelocity. Kellie and Jamie were the last to arrive at the Detour in Leg 2, and due to the strain that the physical task put on Kellie, the team quit the race and became the third team to be eliminated.
