Bringing back the typical 'show-them-what-you-got' challenge seen in a number of past seasons, season 17 had the queens take to an all-new main stage to show off their personalities and their talents in a good ol' fashioned talent show. The catch was that the fourteen new queens had to determine the lineups each night, splitting into two groups of seven at their whims and then voting amongst each other to determine who was the top two and who, from each group, would lip sync for their lives. Suzie Toot and Lexi Love won their respective talent shows while Acacia Forgot and Hormona Lisa were voted the worst for theirs.

Answer: Arietty

New this season, Ru introduced the Badonkadunk Tank, which had the power to save two queens from elimination if they could pull one of the ten available levers and dunk Michelle Visage into a tank of water. If a queen lost the lip sync, they could pull any of the remaining levers, but if they were wrong, they would need to sashay away.

The first use of the tank saw an immediate save when Hormona Lisa pulled lever #7. The second instance was Arietty's first time in the bottom; she pulled #1 and dunked Michelle as well, indicating that the magic levers were meant to represent season 17.

Answer: Monopoly

With all fourteen queens still in the game in the third episode, Ru gave the group their first design challenge of the season, tasking them with creating new looks inspired by the properties in the Monopoly board. With this, queens were grouped into different colours and given the same collection of fabrics to pull from, meaning that queens in orange, for example, would have to fight over a limited stock of supplies to make their garments. Sam Star, who received Park Place, won this episode. At the back of the pack, Lucky Starzzz became the first eliminated queen.

Answer: Lexi Love's

By the time the sixth week of the competition rolled around, and a handful of queens (a small handful) had been eliminated, the remaining twelve queens had to bring their finery to the Sea Sickening Ball, a challenge which had them showcasing three looks on the runway, one each in the categories of Bathing Beauties, Sea Creature Couture, and Sea Sickening Eleganza, the last of which had to be made of recycled materials dredged from the sea. Notably, during the time allocated to create the garments, Lexi Love's cape, left outside, was spray painted by Onya Nerve, who mistook her outfit for a tarp.

Arietty, who was saved by the Badonkadunk Tank the week before, won this week's challenge while Hormona Lisa was sent home.

Answer: The Wizard of Oz

Although the queens had to take on "The Wizard of Oz" for their Rusical this season, each portraying different characters from the classic Judy Garland film, they also had to sing and dance to original songs, all of which took on different elements of the classic stage/movie musical "A Chorus Line". Once the 'Wicked Wiz of Oz: The Rusical!' was finally complete, the queens hit the runway with the prompt of Parasols, Shady Ladies, and Acacia Forgot was eliminated, sent to the bottom for her unmemorable take on Dorothy during the main challenge.

Answer: Lydia B. Kollins

Across nine weeks of the competition, it appeared that a burgeoning showmance was forming between Kori King and Lydia B. Kollins, both of whom would feature many bottom-two lip syncs over the course of the season. The relationship came to its natural and dramatic end at the end of week nine when the queens had a Betsey Johnson-inspired design challenge and the duo placed in the bottom two. Forced to sing Lita Ford's "Kiss Me Deadly", the pair performed (and kissed!) for the judges and King, on her third lip sync at that point, was sent packing.

Answer: Gia Gunn

Week ten featured a common comedy challenge as the queens participated in a roast on the main stage, this time framed around three guests of honour, each classed as a villain in their season (and in the fandom). It meant creating reads of he fellow competitors, the judging panel, and the trio of Mistress Isabelle Brooks, Plane Jane, and Kandy Muse. To the surprise of most, the win this week went to Lydia B. Kollins, who was in the bottom the previous week.

She would fall back to the bottom the next week, to be sent home on an acting challenge.

Answer: Ugliest Dress

The Top 6, while closer to the end of the competition, still had a way to go when they embarked upon a unique main stage task writing and starring in the 'Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve & Talent Monologues'. For this, each queen paired up with another competitor to recite a monologue while their partner performed an interpretive dance alongside their story. The joint pair of Lexi Love and Onya Nerve won this one while Sam Star and Lana Ja'Rae landed in the bottom, performing in their Ugliest Dress runway looks to Dua Lipa's "Illusion". After four times in the bottom, Lana was eliminated.

Interestingly, the last time the 'Ugliest Dress' runway took place was back in season 7.

Answer: Suzie Toot

As their reunion, the queens had to face off in a semifinal episode to compete for the title of 'Queen of She Done Already Done Had Herses' and a $50,000 USD prize in a Lip Sync LaLaPaRuza Smackdown, and what this meant was a bracket of lip sync battles on the main stage where only one would emerge victorious. Queens would be randomly drawn from a bingo tumbler and then determine whether they wanted to pick their song or their opponent. If they picked their song, then their opponent would be randomly drawn.

In the end, Kori King faced off against Suzie Toot to Rose and Bruno Mars' "APT." with Suzie being crowned the winner.

Answer: Onya Nurve

With a finale of original songs and performances, live, on the main stage, the final four were whittled down to a final two, and with that, Onya Nurve and Jewels Sparkles were called upon to perform one last lip sync to Lady Gaga's "Abracadabra". When this was done, Nymphia Wind stepped down from her reign and RuPaul declared the winner of season 17 to be Onya Nurve, who claimed a $200,000 USD prize, the crown, the sceptre, and the title of America's Next Drag Superstar. Jewels, as runner-up, received a $25,000 prize while Crystal Envy was crowned Miss Congeniality.
