Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In "Underground", who does Dr. McKay say could design an A-bomb?

Answer: Most of his high school chess team

Mackay says most of his high school chess team could design an A-bomb and that the 'only' hard thing is getting sufficient fissional materials. He also reveals that he built an atomic bomb for his grade six science fair exhibit, which prompted a visit from the CIA.
2. Why was Maj. Sheppard surprised to see his old friends Dex and Mitch in "Home"?

Answer: They'd both been dead for years

The aliens on planet M5S-224 fool the Atlantis team into thinking that they have returned home. However, without sufficient knowledge of Earth, the aliens make certain mistakes. Along with his two dead friends, Maj. Sheppard meets his sixth grade teacher and a girl who refused to date him in high school.
3. What is the name of the people who take over the city in "The Storm" and "The Eye"?

Answer: Genii

The Genii were first seen in "Underground" where they were trying to develop an atomic bomb to fight off the Wraith. For many reasons, the Genii and Atlantis team become enemies. In "The Storm" and "The Eye", led by the malevolent Kolya, the Genii take over Atlantis.
4. What does Dr. McKay say he is allergic to in "The Defiant One"?

Answer: Bee stings

Throughout "Stargate SG-1" and "Stargate Atlantis," Dr. McKay has revealed many things he is allergic to. In this episode, he reveals that he's allergic to bee stings after seeing an alien firefly which is very similar to the creatures seen on M4C-862 in the "Stargate SG-1" episode "Prodigy."
5. What does ZPM stand for?

Answer: Zero Point Module

Zero Point Modules are Ancient power cells that draw energy from subspace. Throughout the series, the team searches for these elusive items, as they could produce enough power to raise the city's shield and open a wormhole to Earth.
6. What game are the scientists playing at the beginning of "Hot Zone"?

Answer: Prime/Not Prime

The game of Prime/Not Prime consists of one person saying a number and then someone else has to decide if it's a prime number or not. The scientists are amused by Lt. Ford who gets every one wrong as even guessing, he should get it right 50% of the time.
7. In "Sanctuary", who is Maj. Sheppard compared to by Dr. McKay?

Answer: Captain Kirk

McKay's comment comes after Maj. Sheppard, in typical Captain Kirk style, kisses Chaya Sar, a beautiful priestess. Dr. McKay comments, "The romancing of the alien priestess? It's very 1967 of you," referring to the year "Star Trek" was on TV.
8. In the "Stargate SG-1" episode "It's Good To Be King", SG-1 finds a Puddle-Jumper that can travel through time. In what episode of "Stargate Atlantis" is a similar vessel used?

Answer: Before I Sleep

In "Before I Sleep", Dr. Weir travels back in time ten thousand years by use of a modified Puddle-Jumper. Dr. Weir meets Janus, the Ancient scientist who built the modified Puddle-Jumper. Janus hints at his intention to build another time ship when he gets back to Earth. This is probably the ship found by SG-1 in the episode "It's Good To Be King."
9. In "Letters From Pegasus", Lt. Ford sends a message to one of his relatives. Who is it?

Answer: Grandmother

We see Lt. Ford saying goodbye to his grandmother in "Rising" and it's clear Ford has a soft spot for her as he mentions her several times during the series.
10. Who leads the military contingent from Earth in "The Siege, Part 2"?

Answer: Everett

Colonel Dillon Everett comes through the Stargate to take command of the Atlantis expedition. A friend of Col. Sumner, he doesn't care much for Maj. Sheppard, who killed Sumner. Later, Everett is tortured by the Wraith and forced to return to Earth.
