The Gaslight Cafe (aka the Village Gaslight) was a coffeehouse which opened in 1958 in Greenwich Village, a neighborhood in the lower part of Manhattan. Later in the 1960s, notable performers included Joni Mitchell, Bruce Springsteen, Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton.
