Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. When does Maya debut?

Answer: "Turnabout Sisters"

In this episode, Maya's sister Mia is murdered. As well, Maya herself is the prime suspect for having committed the murder. Maya's debut is spent as Phoenix's client.
2. How old is Maya when she initially starts working as Phoenix's assistant?

Answer: 17

A recurring theme across the franchise is characters who are far, far younger than people in their roles traditionally would be. Maya is 17, so she clearly cannot work at a law firm. For one, you need to be a legal adult to represent someone in court. For another, even if there were no age restrictions for this sort of thing, there is obviously no way someone could obtain the requisite schooling and licensing to be fit to practice law at the age of 17.
3. Apart from work with Phoenix, what is Maya in training to eventually become?

Answer: Spirit medium

Maya's spirit medium background comes up many, many times throughout the franchise. Sometimes, Maya will use this craft to straight up turn into Mia Fey in order to better assist Phoenix.
4. The first time Maya is accused of murder, she wants Phoenix to ask Marvin Grossman to represent her in court. Does Grossman agree to do so?

Answer: No

Heavily under pressure from the true culprit in Redd White, Grossman is blackmailed out of representing Maya in court.
5. The second time Maya is accused of murder, it seems as though only Maya herself could possibly have committed the deed. She was, in fact and unsurprisingly, set up by the true culprit. This takes place in "Reunion and Turnabout". Who is the true culprit?

Answer: Mimi Miney

Mimi Miney, under the guise of Ini Miney, is the one who truly killed Dr Turner Grey. She did so to take revenge on him after he drugged her sister, Ini, resulting in the latter dying in a car accident.
6. The third and mercifully last time Maya got accused of murder, she is the target of a very vengeful Dahlia Hawthorne, who wants Maya dead. Maya didn't actually do anything to Dahlia though, Mia did. What did Mia do to cause Dahlia to lash out at Maya?

Answer: Got Dahlia found guilty in court

Dahlia poisoned Diego Armando, and it was thought that Armando was killed. Mia accused her of this in court, had her found guilty and she was subsequently put to death as a result of the verdict. As revenge, Dahlia tried to murder her little sister Maya, since Mia was already dead and Dahlia couldn't directly take revenge against Mia.
7. In "Turnabout Samurai", Maya inadvertently inspires Sal Minella to create a new TV show. What show is made with Maya as the inspiration?

Answer: "The Pink Princess"

For a 30 year old man to be fawning and drooling over a 17 year old girl is massively concerning to say the least, and it's a shame Phoenix did not intervene at any point. Having said that, nothing inappropriate actually happened and Maya seemed pleased enough, so all's well that ends well I suppose.
8. As it turns out, Morgan Fey tries to have Maya, her own niece, framed for murder in "Reunion and Turnabout". Why does Morgan do this?

Answer: Power

Morgan's branch of the Fey family is different from Maya's. Maya's bloodline gives her the ability to channel spirits at an exceedingly more powerful rate than Morgan herself can. This allows Maya to be in line to eventually be labelled the "Master" of the Kurain Village. Maya only has a little sister who is far weaker than Morgan at the age of 8 years old. If Maya was to be removed from the picture, Morgan herself would be next in line to become the Master.

As such, Morgan wants Maya out of the picture so she can gain newfound authority and power over the Kurain Village.
9. For the first two games of the "Phoenix Wright" trilogy, we are led to believe Maya's mother's name is Misty Fey. In "Bridge to the Turnabout", however, this appears to not be the case. What is Misty Fey's actual name?

Answer: Elise Deauxnim

This is discovered when Elise visits the Kurain Village. It isn't immediately found out however, as Phoenix would finally learn that Elise is Maya's real mother in court later in the episode. Unfortunately, Elise is murdered in this episode.
10. At the very end of the trilogy in the grand finale "Bridge to the Turnabout," Maya does something she never did before at any point in the trilogy. What happens with Maya here?

Answer: She testifies as a witness

Maya is the very last person to take the stand at any point throughout the rest of the trilogy. Naturally, her testimony is arguably the hardest to cross examine out of the entire "Trials & Tribulations" part of the trilogy, and likely one of the harder testimonies throughout the trilogy in general.
