Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This Namco game featured four ghosts and dots to eat. What game is this?

Answer: Pac-Man

'Pac-Man' was released in 1981. It was Namco's second game. Their first ever game they made was 'Galaxian' which was released in 1976.

Namco has also made a game called 'Ms. Pac-Man'. In the game, you control a female version of Pac-Man.

Dr. Don and Dr. Dan are from 'Point Blank', released in 1994.
2. 'Tony Hawk's Pro Skater' was one of the best-selling video games of 1999. Did it have any sequels?

Answer: Yes

The game was available on various platforms and required the player to perform skateboard tricks and collect items. There were ten pro skaters, including the titular Tony Hawk, and there were twenty sequels released between 2000 and 2020.

Tony Hawk turned professional as a skater at the age of 14 and is considered the man who made it a mainstream sport. He was the first to master the '900' stunt, spinning 2 1/2 times in the air.
3. In 2000, 'The Sims' was released. It was developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts and went on to become one of the best-sellers of all time. What artificial language is used in the game?

Answer: Simlish

'The Sims', and its predecessor, 'Sim Tower' were some of the first video games that I played. Sims were little 'people' that could be controlled and instructed in many aspects of life- buying houses and cars, getting a job, exercising, raising a family, and even dying. Their language, Simlish, is deliberately incomprehensible, supposedly to avoid boring repetition. Other languages were considered, such as Navajo, Ukrainian or Estonian, but they all would have presented the same problem, so Simlish was invented.

Hylian is the invented language used in 'The Legend of Zelda'. Rotokasis a real language, spoken in a small area of Papua New Guinea, and Simplicity is a dress-making pattern.
4. Who is the main character in 'Silent Hill 3'?

Answer: Heather

Heather Mason is a seventeen year old girl who is trying to find her way home, conquering supernatural monsters in an abandoned shopping centre.

The game was released in 2003 and a movie adaptation was made in 2012, titled 'Silent Hill: Revelation 3D' starring Australian-born actress, Adelaide Clemens.
5. Two new 'Pokémon' games were released on Game Boy Advance in the year 2003. What were the two new colour versions for 'Pokémon'?

Answer: Aduro Cutlass, Flamberge, Glorious

It was a PS2 game, developed by Insomnia Games. Our heroes have to battle enemies, solve puzzles and defeat the evil Chairman Drek of the Blarg Empire. Ratchet is a mechanic and Clank is a small robot, who form a great team and forge a strong friendship.

They have over 30 weapons/gadgets at their disposal, but the Aduro Cutlass, Flamberge, Glorious are all swords from the 'Sonic and the Black Knight' game.

In 2016, an animated movie was made, based on the original 2002 game.
