Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Most of the time, when a player fails to snag a Shadow, it'll end up in Miror B's possession later. There are some exceptions to this, however. Which of the following is an example of a Shadow who will never flee its original trainer no matter how much the player fails to snag them?

Answer: Gulpin

Gulpin is owned by Cipher Peon Purpsix. The Hexagon Brothers each have one Shadow and, unlike most of the rest of the game, they will permanently keep their Shadow until the player manages to snag it. These six can be refought basically whenever the player wants, so it's likely Genius Sonority wanted the player to be ensured of having access to at least a few Shadow Pokemon, no matter how new or bad they are at the game.
2. Unlike "Colosseum", this game offers a small easter egg that can only be found if the player purifies every Shadow in the game, then defeats Grand Master Greevil. Once they do this, what will they receive?

Answer: A cutscene

Ordinarily, just for defeating Greevil without purifying everything, the player gets a great big cutscene showing what happens with Greevil and Cipher being finally defeated. The game then cuts to the credits. If the player has purified everything, then defeats Greevil, they'll start by getting the same big cutscene as usual. However, after it, a second, smaller cutscene will play. It shows the protagonist leaving behind his Snag Machine, as the player wouldn't need it anymore having snagged and purified everything.

It's a nice, wholesome touch to cap off a 100% finished game.
3. Grand Master Greevil has six Shadow Pokemon on his team. If the player snags any or all of them, then comes back to fight him again, they'll find he's replaced the Shadows with regular Pokemon. Which of the following is one regular Pokémon he will use?

Answer: Aerodactyl

Greevil's team has three Flying types and three non Flying types, the latter of which will take any minuscule chance the player offers them to relentlessly spam Earthquake as much as possible. Even still, this is not a particularly difficult fight, as his team caps at level 50 and nothing is particularly scary to face off against- even the blisteringly fast Aerodactyl.
4. Levels of opposing Pokemon at the Orre Colosseum may seem random, but actually follow a pretty simple formula. If the player has Pokemon at level 75, what level Pokemon will Orre Colosseum opponents have?

Answer: 75

Orre Colosseum opponents are designed to have full teams of Pokemon with the exact same level as the player's highest level Pokemon, to a minimum of 60. If the player has a single Pokemon at level 99 and everything else is level 10, the opponents will have full teams of level 99 Pokemon. If the player has a team full of level 55s, Orre Colosseum opponents will have teams full of level 60s.
5. There aren't too many lore remnants of "Pokemon Colosseum" in this game, but one NPC can tell the player why The Under isn't accessible in this game, when it was in the aforementioned one. What happened to The Under?

Answer: It was buried

The player is told by an NPC standing by a bridge in Pyrite Town that The Under was quite literally just buried underground and left behind.
6. There are two Shadow Pokemon in this game who the player will be unable to snag upon initially meeting. These are the only two the player must wait for later to be able to snag. Who are they?

Answer: Zangoose and Nosepass

During this part of the story, the player does not have access to the Snag Machine. As a result, the game will simply tell the player that snagging Zangoose from Thug Zook and Nosepass from Miror B, respectively, isn't initially possible. Zook is fought a second time and Miror B will quickly reappear once the player has the Snag Machine back, so it won't be long before these two can be caught.
7. Unfortunately, raising a Flying types attacker may prove difficult if they don't naturally learn any good Flying moves on their own. Where can the TM for Aerial Ace be found?

Answer: Mt Battle

The player would have to go all the way up 90 entire areas just to get the TM for Aerial Ace. This requires an end game team of Pokemon level 60+, so by this point, the player has likely finished their team. By that point, the TM for Aerial Ace would probably be redundant.
8. Similar to in "Colosseum", the Intimidate ability is fantastic in this game, so the player would do well to grab at least one or a few Pokemon with this ability. How many Pokemon with Intimidate can the player acquire in this game?

Answer: Seven

The earliest Intimidater the player would likely be able to acquire will take a little bit of work. Poochyena can be snagged at level 10, purified, then when evolved, Mightyena will have this ability.

Similarly, the next earliest would probably be Masquerain. It can be caught as a Surskit from the Oasis Area, then evolved to get this ability.

Mawile can be snagged from Cipher Commander Exol in the OBNS.

Growlithe and Arbok can be snagged from the Cipher Key Lair. However, some resetting or a bit of luck will need to be in order, as they can also be found with different abilities, as they both have two. Thankfully, the player can just reset the game if they don't have Intimidate, then retry the encounters continuously until they do.

It'll be a little while after that, but very late in the game, Cipher Admin Eldes has a Shadow Salamence which can be snagged.

Last but not least, Grand Master Greevil wields a snaggable Shadow Tauros with the Intimidate ability.
9. Though criticisms of the game were few and far between, "Pokemon Colosseum" was gently scrutinized by general fans for only allowing the player to catch a single Ghost type Pokemon in the whole entire game. How many Ghost types can be caught in this game?

Answer: Three

The earliest available would be Duskull, who can be snagged in the OBNS.

After that, the player will sadly have to wait quite a long time. The next and final two available Ghost types, Sableye and Banette, won't appear until Citadark Isle, the last dungeon of the entire game.
10. In the middle of the game, Chobin will challenge the player twice consecutively-- once standing on his own two feet, then the second time sitting inside his glorious Robo Groudon. Between these two challenges, Chobin adds two members to his team. What two new Pokemon joins Chobin for this fight?

Answer: Hoppip and Tropius

Up to this point, Chobin has had a Gyarados and a Sunkern. When fought inside his Robo Groudon suit, Sunken has evolved into Sunflora, and Hoppip and Tropius have joined the fray. By the end of the game, Hoppip will have evolved into Skiploom, then again into Jumpluff.
