Answer: Kelpies

The Kelpies are huge, being 30 metres. Although they look like horse heads, they are shape-shifting water spirits. The statue is located between Falkirk and Grangemouth, and is designed by Andy Scott, a local sculptor. The sculpture was completed in 2013, and is a great photo opportunity for anyone in the area.

Answer: Gun

Created by Swedish artist Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd and known as "The Knotted Gun", this sculpture was made as a response to the killing of John Lennon. The sculpture is made of bronze, representing a Colt Python 357 Magnum revolver. The gun pipe is in the air and the barrel is knotted. The representation is that a weapon that can kill can also be disarmed, and therefore a symbol of peace and non-violence.

The sculpture is known as the "Atlanta Falcon". Located at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, the statue was commissioned and built for the amazing sum of 1.5 billion dollars. The artist, Gabor Milos Szoke, from Budapest, has been heralded as an amazing talent. this sculpture depicts an aggressive falcon, comprised of thousands of stainless steel pieces standing on a huge bronze football.

The statue is huge, standing about four storeys high. Absolutely incredible.

Answer: Cloud Gate

Cloud Gate is located in Millennium Park in Chicago. This amazing artwork was constructed between 2004 and finally finished in 2006. Known locally as "the bean" as its shape resembles a bean, at first the nickname did not please the artist, but gradually he came to like it.

It is made of stainless plates welded together and its highly polished sides reflect the city. One can only look and wonder how someone came up with the idea of a mirror of steel.

Amazingly this fabulous sculpture was paid for by its architect, Eduado Catalano.

It is located at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires, as a sculpture representing an enormous metal flower, which blooms every day, in a pool of water. It is a moving sculpture, with its petals opening, around 20 minutes, revealing four long stamens inside. After opening slowly during the day, it also slowly closes in the evening. It is a great representation of a real flower that is captured by a metal imitation. Mind blowing.

Known as "S-Printing Horse", this sculpture represents everything relating to a printing house. It includes symbolism such as eyes that shine at night to represent scanning originals, while its round body symbolises the rotary process of printing. The head is meant to look like a printer, the tail represents a book, while the fact that the horse only has three legs relates to the three processes of printing, and its speed relates to how fast print media hits the streets.

Answer: Louise Bourgeois

Bourgeois created "Maman" in the late 1990s, first produced in stainless steel and marble, and later six being produced in bronze and marble. The original sculpture was commissioned for London's Tate Gallery in the 2000s and the six later ones are located in National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa, Canada; Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, Spain; Mori Art Museum, Tokyo, Japan; Leeum, Samsung Museum of Art, South Korea; Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Bentonville, Arkansas, USA; and Qatar National Convention Center, Doha, Qatar.

The spider represents the strength of the artist's mother, with the symbolism being weaving and spinning of family life and protection.

The sculpture, by Andrew Gormley, is known as "The Angel of the North". The location is Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, one of the northern counties of England. The figure was completed in 1998 and at the time of its construction was the largest sculpture of an angel in the world.

It is made of metal that is rusty and oxidised giving it the look of an ancient monument, and stands a massive 20 metres high with a wingspan of 54 metres, larger than a jet airplane. The location is in itself, surprising, by being out of the main urban areas, in a field by a road.
10. "Spoonbridge and Cherry" is a sculpture located in Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. It was commissioned by a donation from a single individual. True or false?

Answer: True

The "Spoonbridge and Cherry" sculpture was designed by a married couple, Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen. The donation by Frederick R. Weisman of $500,000 allowed for the sculpture to be made for a permanent structure in the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. Completed in 1988 as part of the garden's opening, it is made from stainless steel and aluminum, and the cherry is coated with polyurethane enamel.
