"The Philadelphia Story" was released in 1940 and starred Katherine Hepburn, Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart. Another version, "High Society", was released in 1956 and starred Grace Kelly, Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby.

Set three years after the end of the Civil War, the movie centers around Ethan's (John Wayne) search for his captured niece Debbie (Natalie Wood). While he is initially prejudiced against the Native American tribes that took his niece, he eventually overcomes this to welcome Debbie back into their family.
