Rhett Butler (Clark Gable) had put up with a lot over the years, being married to Scarlett O'Hara (Vivien Leigh), and he was finally leaving her. When she asked what she was going to do with him gone, he answered with the famous quote, "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn."
