Answer: Gone with the Wind

"Gone With the Wind" took place in the south during the American Civil War. Rhett Butler (Clark Gable) had put up with a lot over the years, being married to Scarlett O'Hara (Vivien Leigh), and he was finally leaving her. When she asked what she was going to do with him gone, he answered with the famous quote, "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn."

Answer: Casablanca

"Casablanca", which starred Ingrid Bergman, Humphrey Bogart, and Claude Rains, was set in Casablanca, Morocco, during World War II. Old lovers Ilsa (Ingrid Bergman)and Rick (Humphrey Bogart), met again at Rick's night club in Casablanca. Ilsa decided to leaver her husband Victor (Paul Henreid) for Rick.

However, Rick decided that it was best for her to leave Morocco with her husband. "Casablanca" had six quotes on the "100 Quotes" list.

Answer: The Quiet Man

"The Quiet Man" starred John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara. Sean Thornton (John Wayne) was a boxer who killed an opponent in the ring. He goes to the land of his ancestry, Ireland, and meets, falls in love with, and marries Mary Kate Danaher (Maureen O'Hara). John Wayne starred with Jimmy Stewart in "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" and "The Shootist". Grace Kelley was in "Rear Window" with Stewart.

Answer: The African Queen

The number one female legend, Katharine Hepburn, starred as a missionary in "The African Queen" with Humphrey Bogart. Bogart was the number one male legend, who starred as a river boat captain during WWI. Humphrey Bogart won Best Actor in 1951 for his portrayal of Charlie Allnut.

Answer: Judy Garland

The song was from "The Wizard of Oz". Judy Garland sang "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". "The Wizard of Oz" starred Judy Garland as a girl sent by a tornado to the magical land of Oz.

Answer: Marlon Brando

The second best quote was "I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse", spoken by Don Vito Corleone in "The Godfather". The third best quote was the famous contender speech from "On the Waterfront". As Terry Malloy, Brando said, "You don't understand! I coulda had class. I coulda been a contender. I coulda been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am."

Answer: To Kill a Mockingbird

The number one hero was Atticus Finch. "To Kill a Mockingbird" was the story of a lawyer/father in the south defending a black man who was accused of raping a white woman. Gregory Peck won the Best Actor Oscar in 1962 for his role as Atticus.

Answer: "The Godfather" and "The Godfather: Part II"

"The Godfather"(1972) came in at number three on the list, and its sequel, "The Godfather: Part II" came in at number thirty-two. "The Godfather" starred Marlon Brando as the Don of his mafia family. Al Pacino co-starred as the Don's youngest son, Michael, who at first refuses to take part in the family business but by the end has become the new Don. "The Godfather: Part II" starred Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, and Robert Duvall.

In the second part of the saga, Michael is now the respected Don of the Corleone family. De Niro co-starred as the young Vito Corleone.

His story is shown in flashbacks.

Answer: The Searchers

"The Searchers" was not even nominated for Best Picture in 1956, but it came in at number ninety-six on the movie list. The film starred John Wayne as an ex-Confederate soldier searching for his niece, Debbie (Natalie Wood), who was kidnapped by Comanches. "Rocky" won Best Picture in 1976, "Lawrence of Arabia" in 1962, and "Patton" in 1970.

Answer: Citizen Kane

"Citizen Kane", though chosen by AFI as the best movie of all time, didn't even win Best Picture in 1941. It lost to "How Green Was My Valley." "Citizen Kane" was about a rich man, Charles Foster Kane, whose last dying word was "rosebud". A reporter tries to track down the meaning of this word in this drama.
