Racers booked their own tickets to Dublin, Ireland upon arriving at the tenth Pit Stop, and headed out on the penultimate leg of the race with a thousand mile flight to the British Isles. Upon their arrival, racers had to locate waiting vehicles and drive themselves to Forty Foot on the edge of Dublin Bay in Sandycove. Upon arriving there, teams had to don their bathing suits and swim out to a buoy in the chilly Irish Sea to collect their next clue.

Answer: Frankfurt

Teams left Asia in this seventh leg of the race and picked up tickets taking them deep into Europe, four thousand miles northwest to the city of Frankfurt, Germany. For this majority self-drive leg of the race, teams had to navigate through the countryside to the town of Kaub. There, they'd drive themselves onto a ferry that would take them up the Rhine River to their next clue. While on the ferry, teams would need to take the time to locate a man onboard who would trade them a bag of coins for five Euros of their pocket change. They'd need those coins for the tasks ahead.

Racers needed to make their way out of Thailand in Leg 3, departing from Bangkok bound for the city of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, five hundred miles to the east. Upon landing, racers needed to locate a bus taking them a lengthy distance into the country to the city of Can Tho. Racers would finally be at their destination when they reached a clue waiting for them at the Ninh Kieu Wharf on the Bassac River, deep in the Mekong Delta. Racers were required to book their flights to Ho Chi Minh via a travel agent and, unfortunately, many on the earlier flight were delayed, leading to a significant shift in standings.

Answer: City of Angels

To kick off this season of the race, thirteen teams headed from the Hollywood Sign to Downtown L.A., stopping off at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel for the inaugural Road Block. There, they could take a number then head to the roof where one racer would have to cross a tightrope between two balconies. After completing this crossing, they would then need to solve a word puzzle, unscrambling twelve letters into three words with specific numbers of blanks to identify their next destination. Though CITY OF ANGELS could apply to Los Angeles, their starting city, it would also apply to Bangkok, their first destination. Providing this answer to Derek and Claire (winners of Season 34) would get them their next clue and allow them to race off to LAX.

Answer: The Hollywood Sign

This season, bringing the race back to its full form after the COVID-19 pandemic, had thirteen teams (the most in the U.S. franchise's history) head to the start line at the Hollywood sign for this thirty-fifth race around the globe to celebrate the iconic sign's hundredth birthday. At a lookout below Griffith Park, the pairs of teams overlooked the city of Los Angeles and were given the go-ahead to start racing with the chance for a million dollars. Teams were told that there would be no non-elimination legs this season and, along the way they'd come across the Express Pass and, for the second time in the U.S. version of the show, the mandatory U-Turn Vote. Their first clue would be waiting for them inside a car waiting down the hillside. And with that, they were off.

After the cold plunge, racers needed to drive themselves to the Gaiety Theatre to find their next clue, and what they found there was a Road Block task that required they join the famous Irish phenomenon, Riverdance. Though performances for these skilled dancers could last for up to two hours, racers only needed to learn thirty-seconds of complicated dance steps, performing them onstage to get their next clue. Corey, Joel, Steve, and John hit the stage for this one to become lords of the dance and collect their next clue. As Corey and Steve had not completed enough Road Blocks to this point in the race, they were required to complete this per their clue.

Answer: Fifteen

Once their ferry reached their destination, teams could drive themselves to Rheinstein Castle and locate their Road Block, a task that asked for a team member 'ready for a change'. This task needed racers with math-mindedness. Using the witten coins that they'd traded for on the ferry, racers needed to ascend into the castle and pay off a robber baron, converting their coins using a provided formula. Once the debt of fifteen coins was paid off, they could head up into the castle to get their next clue and rappel down its side to reunite with their partner below. Todd, Garrett, Anna Leigh, Morgan, John, Corey, Chelsea, and Andrea headed into this task. After this, racers could proceed to the city of Cologne, finding their next task waiting at Gürzenich Köln.

Answer: Dancing

Dropping off their sugarcane, racers exchanged their delivery for a Road Block clue that asked for the teammate who was 'feeling balanced'. For this, the selected teammate had to get coordinated and choreographed as they learned a Rajasthani dance called Bhavai, performed with a series of pots balanced atop their head. If they could perform this dance without dropping the pots, they could receive their next clue. Ian, Ashlie, Chelsea, Corey, Anna Leigh, Garrett, Andrea, Morgan, Yeremi, and John completed this task. After the Road Block, racers could proceed on foot to the step well at Panna Meena ka Kund to find their next cluebox.

Answer: Hurling

Once teams got their steps in, they could collect their clue from "Riverdance's" producer and drive themselves to Croke Park to get their next clue. Here, racers were surprised to find a second Road Block, requiring that the team member who did not have six Road Blocks to their name engage with the Irish sport of hurling, heading to the field to run the pitch, then hurl their slitter through the uprights to get their next clue. Because of the Road Block counts, this meant that Rob and Steve had to do a second Road Block in the same leg while Greg and Garrett hopped in for their teams.

Answer: Morgan and Lena

When teams passed through the floating market task, they were able to direct their sampan drivers to the boat ramp in the photo provided and find their Detour clue. In 'Paper', teams needed to locate Sau Hoai, a rice noodle factory in Can Tho, where they would have to watch a demonstration and learn how to make rice paper using the proper ingredients and a steamer. Once racers prepared twelve passable sheets of rice paper, they would receive their next clue. Joel and Garrett, Steve and Anna Leigh, Rob and Corey, Todd and Ashlie, Jocelyn and Victor, Robbin and Chelsea, Greg and John, and Andrea and Malaina completed this task.

Answer: Pots

After running up into the Amber Fort outside Jaipur, India, racers were asked to pick a team member to join a local group of dancers to learn a Rajasthani dance known as Bhavai. What racers discovered was that this difficult dance would involve balancing pots on their head while performing the moves. Though their teachers would dance with up to nine pots, racers only needed to balance three. If the pots fell or they failed to execute the choreography, they'd have to go to the back of the line. Ian, Ashlie, Chelsea, Corey, Anna Leigh, Garrett, Andrea, Morgan, Yeremi, and John all joined in to learn the dance.

Arriving in Can Tho, Vietnam in Leg 3, racers had to choose either 'Paper' or 'Plastic' for their Detour, engaging with one of two local industries to get their next clue. 'Paper' was selected by more teams, asking them to learn how to make rice paper from a local demonstration. Making a dozen proper sheets would give them their clue. 'Plastic' proved tough for a small amount of teams as they headed to an auto shop to apply a piece of vinyl to a single piece of automotive casing. The fourth Leg of the race followed immediately after teams arrived at their third Pit Stop, and it meant a second Detour. This time, teams could complete 'Stand' or 'Deliver', the former asking them to replicate a market stand at Cho Tan An and the latter having them deliver a mattress through the city.

Answer: Morgan and Lena

Racers crossed the Pacific and headed to Bangkok, landing in their second City of Angels fourteen hours later (passing through Taipei). Upon arriving they would be able to find their first major destination-- the giant statue of Buddha at Wat Paknam. In addition to locating their clue box, teams would be able to pursue the Express Pass if they wanted to take that risk. There, at Wat Paknam, they could find a marked vendor serving a plate full of fried insects. If they could down the entire dish each, they could claim the pass. Morgan and Lena took the chance, downed the unorthodox meal, and won it for themselves. Whether or not teams pursued the Express Pass, they could continue racing by longtail boat and tuk-tuk to Wat Suthat to find their next clue box.

After their second Road Block, all teams had to do was head into the city to find Toner's Pub and scratch a literary itch. Upon arriving, racers needed to memorize two separate passages, both found in James Joyce's famous Irish novel, "Ulysses". If both team members could recite their lines perfectly, they would be able to continue racing to the final Pit Stop.

Answer: Rob and Corey

Teams had two distinct choices for their Detour in Cologne. In 'Just For Kicks', racers got sporty, heading to the Deutsches Sport & Olympia Museum to play soccer darts. With only four shots, they needed to get a combined score of sixty-six to get their next clue. In 'Matter of Taste', teams had to work very different muscles, heading to Hafenterrasse to taste-test mustard. After sampling nine mustards, racers needed to identify them by their provided German names. Only one team completed 'Just For Kicks'.

Answer: Peacock

Arriving at Jaipur Mahal towards the end of their sixth leg, the nine racing teams had to join in with local handicraftsmen to decorate a provided bolt of fabric collected during an earlier task. For this task, the selected racer had to enter the building and use four different block stamps with different coloured paints to create nine peacock designs. If they could stamp properly and get the approval of their judge's critical eye, they could race to the Pit Stop. Greg, Rob, Todd, Joel, Lena, Steve, Malaina, Robbin, and Liam all participated in this challenge.

Answer: Jaigarh Fort

Jaipur, India hosted teams in Leg 5 and it was there, leaving the Amber Fort, that teams had to hop into a rickshaw and complete one of two tasks at the nearby Jaigarh Fort for their Detour, both relating to different art forms from the region. 'All Dolled Up' asked teams to work with puppets, creating two marionettes in the Kathputli tradition to the approval of a puppeteer and making them dance to get their clue while 'The Big Picture' had teams replicating Rajput paintings, adding themselves into unfinished versions in the landmark. The latter challenge only had six stations, so Todd and Ashlie had to join Steve and Anna Leigh, Joel and Garrett, and Rob and Corey at 'All Dolled Up' while Morgan and Lena swapped later on while and the other teams finished 'The Big Picture'.

After a tough leg through Dublin, racers left Toner's Pub and proceeded on foot to the last Pit Stop waiting in front of St. Patrick's Cathedral, the oldest such building in the Irish capital city. Rob and Corey managed to snag a win-- their first in eleven legs-- when they hit the Pit Stop mat this time, and in addition to heading into the final leg, they won enough Expedia Key Cash to take a trip for two to Fiji. After several hard-fought legs, father-and-daughter team Steve and Anna Leigh arrived on the mat in last and were eliminated, leaving the U.S. "Amazing Race's" first-ever all-male final three to head into the finale.

As soon as teams cleared out their Detour tasks, they had one last drive to make, taking themselves to their ninth Pit Stop destination at Grad Socerb, a castle overlooking the border between Italy and Slovenia where the nations meet above the Adriatic Sea. Greg and John continued their massive winning streak, taking a fourth consecutive win upon checking into the Pit Stop and earning themselves $5,000 USD each. Robbin and Chelsea stayed at the back of the pack all leg and were unable to catch up. It meant that the two of them were eliminated when they hit the mat shortly after sunset.

Answer: Andrea and Malaina

Racers wrapping up their Detours could get their final clue and proceed to the race's seventh Pit Stop at Das Schokoladenmuseum, a massive chocolate factory on the banks of the Rhine right next to the Detour locations. Greg and John took their second win in a row, translating their successes in Jaipur to the prize in Germany. This time around, they won $4,000 USD each. All other teams checked into the Pit Stop to find their placements throughout the next few hours, but Andrea and Malaina fell so far behind that they were eliminated as soon as they arrived in Cologne. They were unable to complete the second Road Block and the Detour before Phil located them.

Answer: Joe and Ian

Finishing their Detour at Jaigarh Fort, racers had to get back into their rickshaws and proceed to the fifth Pit Stop waiting for them atop the city of Jaipur at Gatore Ki Chhatriyan. Steve and Anna Leigh led the pack out of the Road Block and stepped in front of Phil in first place, winning their second leg thus far (after also being first to the keep-on-racing mat in Leg 3) and taking $3,000 USD each as their added prize. They, along with the other teams, were also informed that the next leg of the race would include a mandatory and anonymous U-Turn Vote. The end of the leg proved to be a tense one as the back-of-the-pack teams had nothing more than a rickshaw ride and a footrace separating them from the mat. Morgan and Lena were narrowly able to edge out Joe and Ian, eliminating them in tenth place by mere seconds.

Teams who finished their Detour task were given a clue and told to race by taxi to their next Pit Stop, the Truc Lam Phuong Nam Zen Monastery, the largest such building in the city of Can Tho. Steve and Anna Leigh managed to take first place, leaving the Detour in first place after a strong leg. The catch was that, despite their lengthy leg behind them, Phil gave them another clue and told them to keep on racing directly into Leg 4. Although Liam and Yeremi placed last arriving at the Pit Stop, the continued leg spared them from elimination on this occasion. They ripped their clue open and headed out.

Answer: Alexandra and Sheridan

Completing the Detour allowed teams to collect their last clue in Leg 1, and with this they could race by taxi to the first Pit Stop, Wat Chaloem Phra Kiat Worawihan, in the district of Mueang Nonthaburi north of Bangkok. Married couple Jocelyn and Victor ended up being the first team to land on the mat, winning them a prize package from Expedia allowing them to take a specialized trip to Patagonia and Southern Chile. At the back of the pack, the second flight fought to avoid elimination and it was Elizabeth and Iliana, who stuck it out at the massage parlor, who squeezed into the penultimate spot. Unfortunately, it meant that Alexandra and Sheridan would land on the mat last, finding themselves eliminated in thirteenth place.

Answer: Space Needle & The Space Needle

Leaving Dublin, Ireland, the final three headed over the North Atlantic and Canada and landed in Seattle, Washington. After their lengthy flight, racers had to locate a marked car in the SeaTac International Airport parking lot and determine, based on an ornament on their dashboard, that they needed to drive themselves to the iconic Space Needle. Upon arriving at the Space Needle, racers could take a number and ascend the elevator to the top. Once in the upper floors, they needed to rig up and take a walk around the outer perimeter to get their next clue.

Leaving the Pit Stop at the Schokoladenmuseum in Cologne, racers had to head southeast to the Slovenian capital of Ljubljana in the eighth leg. To get there, however, they had options. All teams were given flights from Cologne to Vienna and then train tickets that would get them into Ljubljana, but they were under no real obligation to use them if they found better alternatives. When they arrived, however, they had to find a marked car in Congress Square and drive themselves out to the town of Lesce, where they would find their next clue.

Before heading out on the sixth leg of the race, racers cast their votes on a U-Turn board, slotting their results in without the other teams seeing their choices. What it led to was a series of possibilities in which racers weighed out their strongest threats. The recipients of the extra task, Steve and Anna Leigh, wouldn't find out their fate until they reached the Detour. They received five votes to Robbin and Chelsea's four. In the meantime, racers departed from Gatore Ki Chhatriyan in the order they arrived at the end of the previous leg and there opening their clue, they were told to race by taxi to Nagra Shoe Store, No. 32 on Hawa Mahal Road and ask the owner for a clue.

Leaving the third Pit Stop immediately, teams headed by taxi to the Cafe Tu Diec and received their next clue from the barista behind the counter. Discovering their Detour, they had to make a choice. The first of these choices was 'Stand', allowing them to head to Cho Tan An, a Can Tho fish market. There, racers needed to replicate a local market stall, presenting several different types of fish for sale, but doing so from scratch and hand-sorting their fresh wares, brought from a nearby distributor. If their stall matched the original vendor's, they'd get their clue. Steve and Anna Leigh, Robbin and Chelsea, Morgan and Lena, Greg and John, Andrea and Malaina, and Jocelyn and Victor completed this task.

Teams had to make kicks or feel a kick in Leg 7, approaching one of two Detour tasks in the city of Cologne, Germany. In 'Just For Kicks', racers played soccer/football, kicking velcro footballs at a giant dartboard with the aim of hitting four balls and getting exactly 66 points. Racers completing 'Matter of Taste' instead enjoyed a mustard taste test at the nearby Hafenterrasse, enjoying nine different mustards and then identifying and naming them by their German names to get their next clue. Only Rob and Corey were able to finish 'Just For Kicks'.

Answer: Three & 3

Finishing their walk around the roof of the Space Needle, racers could head to the exit to locate a man who would let them into the Chihuly Garden and Glass House. There, they would find the clue box containing the race's only Scramble, sending all three teams to complete a series of tasks at their leisure. To complete the Scramble they would need to travel to three spots in Downtown Seattle: At the Seattle Glassblowing Studio, racers needed to properly glassblow, creating a glass sea-float to the proper width to complete the task. At The Showbox, racers would have to construct a full stage setup for a local grunge band. At Emerald City Trapeze Arts, all duos needed to learn and perform a trapeze routine, completing a knee hang catch to keep racing.

Answer: Pink

Finding the right shoe store would bring teams to the front of the beautiful Hawa Mahal facade, and there, teams were required to use a telescoping monocular to spy their next clue, written in one of the nine hundred and fifty windows on the building. This would have them racing deeper on foot into Jaipur. They'd be able to find their next clue at Udai Poll No. 2 in the marketplace of Jalebi Chowk. What they would find at Jalebi Chowk was a messy parking lot of electric rickshaws, and after helping their driver, one of the female pink rickshaw drivers, push it out of the marked area, they would need to take a ride to the SD Masala Spice Shop to find their next clue.
