Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Racers began their competition in front of the Hollywood Sign, but how many teams were there?

Answer: Thirteen

Though many seasons of the race have begun or ended in Los Angeles, "The Amazing Race 35" had teams descend from the Hollywood Hills and solve a puzzle crossing the rooftops of the Millennium Biltmore Hotel before heading to their first international destination. Before heading out on the journey of a lifetime, racers were told that this season of the race would feature some unique twists and turns, but more importantly, it would have no non-elimination legs-- an easy way to cull the numbers from thirteen teams to three by the final leg.
2. From one 'City of Angels' to another, what city played host to racers as they left Los Angeles in the first leg of the race?

Answer: Bangkok

As soon as teams solved their Road Block puzzle in one 'City of Angels', they flew to another-- Bangkok, Thailand-- at the start of the race. In addition to travelling through the Thai capital throughout Leg 1, teams proceeded into the rural regions around this massive city in Leg 2, quickly shedding two teams with minimal placement changes otherwise. Along the way, sisters Morgan and Lena claimed an Express Pass by eating plates of bugs at Wat Paknam and married couple Jocelyn and Victor took first place two legs in a row.
3. At the end of a non-stop trip through Can Tho, Vietnam, racers found the Hùng King Temple, completing which of these before landing on the Pit Stop mat?

Answer: Road Block

The race continued through Southeast Asia in Legs 3 and 4 as racers not only encountered the Vietnamese city of Can Tho, but a keep-on-racing Pit Stop that forced all eleven teams to complete a second leg right after they hit the mat (meaning no elimination and no rest stop).

This meant that after a lengthy travel day and a series of tasks, racers kept working through the heat, visiting floating markets, performing odd jobs for locals, and eventually reaching Hùng King Temple for a Road Block that would shake up the standings so much so that frontrunners Jocelyn and Victor would be eliminated.
4. Did teams need to head into Hawa Mahal when they visited Jaipur, India in Legs 5 and 6?

Answer: No

While teams were told to locate Hawa Mahal in Leg 6, they were actually led to the Famous Nagra Shoe Store No.32 in front of the landmark where, using a telescopic monocular, they had to locate a single window on the building's front face that would contain their next destination (City Palace - Udai Poll No.2) written on front.

The legs in and around Jaipur had teams heading to both the Amber and Jaigarh Forts as well as the bustling city streets, navigating through one of the busiest Indian destinations.

The second leg also featured the season's U-Turn Vote, meaning Steve and Anna Leigh had to complete both Detour options by group consensus.
5. Racers had to cross which river by ferry to reach Burg Rheinstein in Leg 7?

Answer: Rhine

Teams finally left Asia in Leg 7, flying from Jaipur to Frankfurt to start a leg in Germany. While teams started in Frankfurt, the leg actually took teams over to Cologne for the most part, stopping off along the Rhine River in the town of Trechtingshausen where one team member needed to enter and scale down the side of Burg Rheinstein.

In this first self-drive leg, teams showed their navigational mettle, finding their way from one city and into another for not only a Detour, but two Road Blocks. Andrea and Malaina, as a result, got lost and got eliminated.
6. At the Planica Nordic Centre in Slovenia, which team collected a late-game Express Pass by climbing the stairs to the top of the ski jump?

Answer: Rob and Corey

Racers headed to Slovenia in an "Amazing Race" first in Leg 8, and the trip there took them outside the capital city of Ljubljana, at least to start, as they soared over Lake Bled, headed into the rural farmlands for physical labour, and stopped off at one of Europe's largest ski jumps at the Planica Nordic Centre where not only did everyone have to cross-country ski (indoors), but they had a shot at claiming a surprise Express Pass, waiting for the first team to aascend all the stairs to the top and zipline down. Rob and Corey took this valuable prize.
7. Racers proceeded in and around the city of Ljubljana, Slovenia throughout Legs 8 and 9. Did they end their ninth leg there?

Answer: No

They did, however, end their eighth leg there, hitting the Pit Stop mat at the Dragon Bridge after a lengthy leg around the countryside. In Leg 9, the six remaining teams had to navigate Ljubljana on foot before returning to their vehicles and spending another day on the road, stopping off at different points of interests for tasks as they headed towards the Adriatic coastline.

A final Detour on a fish farm preceded a Pit Stop at Socerb Castle overlooking the Slovenian-Italian border near Trieste where Robbin and Chelsea were eliminated.
8. Leg 10 of the race took teams to Stockholm where they travelled by several means of transportation. Which of these was one of them?

Answer: Subway metro

Stockholm had it all as teams headed to Scandinavia for their next set of tasks. All ten racers still in the game needed to skydive over the Stockholm Archipelago before they headed out on boats, trains, and taxis around the islands and structures of the city. Amongst these challenges, racers had to join a midsummer celebration, visit the opera, and ride the subway from one unique station to another. What resulted was an extremely close finish for the top four teams (with Joel and Garrett eking out their first win) while Todd and Ashlie fell back to last place and were eliminated.
9. At the end of Leg 11 in Dublin, Ireland, racers checked in at this cathedral, named after which patron saint?

Answer: St. Patrick

A race-first visit to Dublin, Ireland awaited the final four teams in the penultimate leg of the race, and after a dip in the frigid Dublin Bay waters, racers had to drive themselves down a straight course of tasks, the series of which featured two Road Blocks-- one forcing a racer to join "Riverdance" and the other having them learn the sport of hurling.

At the end of the leg, poor navigation led strong frontrunner team Steve and Anna Leigh to check in in last place at the Pit Stop (at St. Patrick's Cathedral), leaving the show's first-ever all-male final three.
10. Racers closed out the race with a Scramble in what U.S. city?

Answer: Seattle

With only the final leg left to take on, the top three teams flew from Dublin to Seattle and headed straight for the Space Needle to catch a sunset view of the city before taking on a Scramble, sending them all across the downtown core of the west coast destination completing tasks at their leisure. Once teams had all their to-dos done, they could race off to a final memory task at the Kenmore Air Harbor, then head to the Finish Line at Clise Mansion in Redmond, Washington. Greg and John managed to hit the finish line first by only two minutes, winning the million dollar prize over Joel and Garrett and Rob and Corey.
