Commencing Leg 9 at the Dragon Bridge in Ljubljana, racers determined that they would be remaining in Slovenia for their next set of tasks, and this started with proceeding on foot to Congress Square to find their next clue and a Road Block task asking for one player from each team to 'deliver the goods'. In this Road Block, team members had to take woodenware (or suha roba), properly attach provided local products to a krosnja, then carry the utensils to their judges without losing them.

Following the Road Block, racers needed to drive themselves out to the caves of Pivka Jama outside the Slovenian town of Postojna. Once there, they needed to descend into the tunnels and follow the paths there down a length of underground passage equivalent to eight football fields.

At this far end, racers opened a clue that had them going deeper and solving a complex puzzle underground; if they could properly construct a dragon from the massive pieces provided to them, they could continue racing.

Leaving Pivka Jama, racers had to drive to the Fonda Fish Farm in Lucija to locate their Detour, and the 'Scrape Off' option was the first they could select if they wished. For this task, racers had to hop into the fish farm's container units and, using a chain held by thick ropes, they needed to scrape down the container's floatation rings, clearing them of barnacles along their entire circumference. If they could clear two rings they could get their next clue. Steve and Anna Leigh, Rob and Corey, and Todd and Ashlie were able to complete this challenge.

Racers who wanted to head out onto the Adriatic Sea for their Detour could do so in a kayak for the 'Swap Out' task, paddling out to a field of marked buoys and joining in the local workforce. If they could pull out the mussels gathered at the end of their buoys, then replace the old buoys with fresh ones, they could paddle back to shore and trade two mussel lines to the farmers to get their next clue. Greg and John, Joel and Garrett, and Robbin and Chelsea finished this task.

As soon as teams cleared out their Detour tasks, they had one last drive to make, taking themselves to their ninth Pit Stop destination at Grad Socerb, a castle overlooking the border between Italy and Slovenia where the nations meet above the Adriatic Sea. Greg and John continued their massive winning streak, taking a fourth consecutive win upon checking into the Pit Stop and earning themselves $5,000 USD each. Robbin and Chelsea stayed at the back of the pack all leg and were unable to catch up.

It meant that the two of them were eliminated when they hit the mat shortly after sunset.

Leaving Ljubljana, Slovenia at the start of Leg 10, racers had to take a bit of a trip to get to their next destination, the city of Stockholm, Sweden, first by taking a train to Vienna, then flying a thousand miles north. All five teams arrived there on the same flight and subsequently needed to take a taxi to Stockholms Fallskärmsklubb, a skydiving facility outside the capital. All teams had to perform the leap, dropping ten thousand feet from a plane over the Baltic Sea to collect their next clue.

After racers set their feet back on solid ground they needed to proceed on foot from their landing spot at Djurgården in Stockholm's city center to Villa Källhagen where they could catch a private boat to the island of Tynningö. It was there, on this small island in the city archipelago, that racers would work away at their Road Block, a task that required they join the midsummer festivities by first creating a massive flower ring using provided ribbons and wiring, then attaching it to a maypole that they would need to erect on the island. Once this was done, the racer could have a dance and get a clue. Garrett, Anna Leigh, Greg, and Ashlie were selected for this task though Rob and Corey used their Express Pass to skip the challenge.

Leaving Tynningö, racers had to take a boat back into Stockholm proper, arriving at Nybrokajen and then searching the auditorium of the Royal Dramatic Theatre. Once inside, racers had to find a violinist in one of the balcony sections and find her to collect their next clue.

This second clue sent teams onto the Stockholm metro system where they had to catch a train and ride it to Solna Centrum Station. There, they would find their Detour clue.

Reaching Solna Centrum, racers had to choose 'Sort' or 'Serve' for their Detour. In 'Sort', reacers had to join the local recycling efforts by heading to Bromma Återvinningscentral and helping sort through different types of materials, preparing them by placing them into their correct receptacles (of fifteen, all marked in Swedish). In 'Serve', teams instead visited the halls of Stadshuskällaren near Stockholm City Hall where they had to split up. While one member memorized the dinner orders of a table of Nobel laureates, the other would need to take the relayed order, find the dishes, and serve them to their tables at the proper seats.

Rob and Corey, Steve and Anna Leigh, Joel and Garrett, and Todd and Ashlie completed 'Sort' while only Greg and John finished 'Serve'.

After the Detour, teams had to travel by taxi and locate the Pampas Marina where, locating the Alba II docked there, they could find one last clue box. This final clue would send them back into the city metro to ride the rails and find their Pit Stop waiting for them in front of the museum at Strömparterren.

Although Joel and Garrett reached the last clue in fourth place, they managed to navigate to the Pit Stop mat the quickest, arriving there in first place to claim their first win of the season, taking with them enough Expedia Rewards Points to take a trip for two to the Galapagos Islands. Todd and Ashlie were unable to catch up to the other teams throughout the leg and ended up eliminated in fifth place, leaving four pairs.
