In the beginning of the episode, the family drives through the countryside to get to Quagmire's cottage, which Peter anticipates will be the family's best vacation destination since they went on a trek with the Cliffhanger prop from "The Price is Right". When they arrive at the cabin, they realize that Quagmire is also spending time with a lady upstairs. As a note, Cleveland also went on vacation at "The Price is Right", but he spent his time as a Plinko Chip.

In the beginning of this episode, the family sits in front of the TV watching 'How I Met Your Father' when Lois comes in with an announcement. In order to experience a bit of culture, she has bought everyone a ticket to see "Swan Lake" at the Quahog Opera House. At the ballet, most of the family is unamused. Peter sends text messages to Quagmire across the theatre and Brian and Meg go out to get drugs.

After Seamus, the peg-legged, peg-armed sailor pulls the beast off of Peter, they leave.

In the beginning of this episode, Lois, Brian and Peter are watching the Redneck Comedy Tour. Although Peter thoroughly enjoys their antics and jokes, Brian can't stand the act at all. Peter says that it may possibly be the greatest show that he's ever seen. In fact, he thought it was even more fun than watching stand-up comedy by Michael Richards with Cleveland. Richards, of course, came back into the news after racist comments during a comedy routine in 2006.

In the opening credits, everything went normal until the family is dancing on the stairs. Peter tripped and fell down the stairs onto a background dancer. She ended up passing out on the ground, crushed by Peter, while Peter complained about a swollen foot from the fall. Stewie decided that the camera should be shut off and the credits immediately ended.

After deciding that Cleveland was drunk, yet just sober enough to drive, the guys head to the roller rink to pick up Meg.

At the fifteenth annual air show, the family watches the planes do extreme maneuvers. One plane nearly crashes multiple times and the audience is disappointed that there was no big explosion or death. When the pilot leaves the plane he gets stabbed immediately after. In the beginning of this episode, the family watches the news where they learn that the town has been struck with the flu bug. Even Tricia Takanawa is throwing up during her news story. Because of the epidemic, flu shots are running low and the town is reserving them for the elderly. Peter decides to see if he can get one and he purposely falls onto the syringe to get it.

The family encounters Danny Most rising from the forest mists (which occurs once every hundred years) and Quagmire tells the family a spooky campfire tale.

The morning after the ballet, Chris complains during breakfast because he couldn't study for a history test due to the family's night out. This is when Lois and Brian discover that Chris' history textbooks are from a time when Israel wasn't even a country. Lois decides to raise Hell at the next PTA meeting regarding the 'No Child Left Behind' program, but she discovers that the school is doing horribly in test scores. When she asks for a resolution, the school simply expels their dumbest student, which turns out to be Chris.

Lois applies for the job and she gets it by beating out the other applicants. When she returns home, Peter is only concerned with getting his dinner and Lois says that he can make it himself. Peter responds by claiming that he can cook no better than choosing a winner in a hot body/weird face competition (between Sarah Jessica Parker and Kirsten Dunst). Because of this and many other situations, Lois tells the family that they will all be attending church from then on due to their lack of moral fiber (she especially directs this at Meg).

When Lois, Peter, and Stewie go to the local thrift shop to get Peter a new suit, Peter's eye gets caught to the red pyjama outfit. One big feature of this piece of clothing that attracts him is the 'butt-flap' on the back that can button closed. He describes it as the only thing he needs to stay warm while he's on the toilet. After three days, Lois discovers that he hasn't taken his new favourite clothes off and that he's been going to work wearing them as well.

Meanwhile, Peter decides to go to the gym because he's afraid that the octopus will come back to get him.

In order to find out how old Meg is, Peter and Lois consider carbon dating and cutting open her leg to count the rings inside. Instead, they decide to try and force it out of her in normal conversation.

After Brian accidentally sells Stewie's teddy bear, Rupert, without knowing it, Stewie is afraid that he has lost his bear and considers the grim funeral that could be in the future (though it bears a striking similarity to Spock's death in "Wrath of Khan"). After Peter buys his own Evil Knievel gloves from himself, he attempts to jump a row of cars on Spooner Street. This leads him to not only crash his own car, but he ends up crashing on top of a bunch of cars as well, injuring many. Joe later takes Peter's license because of his reckless driving, the way he disturbed the peace, and because a piece of shrapnel pierced a certain bystander, rape was added to his list of offenses. Lois likes this idea.

Due to the lack of law enforcement in Quahog, Peter was able to steal and ride a giraffe home. Lois is shocked that he would be able to do this, but Peter explains that it's easy since there are no cops. He even reveals that he trained a group of kids to be a bunch of Cockney-spouting pickpockets. The giraffe later destroys Cleveland's house while he's in the bathtub.

Peter is dragged to the theater to see a chick flick and before it starts he makes a big fuss. Peter says that the movie helped him 'understand'.

In this episode, Quagmire returned from Florida with firecrackers (which he assumed were illegal), so the Griffin family ended up setting them off in the backyard. Peter decided to tie up ten M80s in a ball and set them off, but while saying the name of his creation to Quagmire it blew off his fingers. It was then a rush against time to retrieve all five and get Peter to the hospital.

Although Peter feels he can distinguish Stewie in a crowd, Brian goes to the local radio booth to use their microphone. Unfortunately, 'Weenie and the Butt' from the local radio station (WQHG) give him a hard time. When he speaks on the microphone, the owner of the station says he has a voice for radio and gives him a job.

When Dr. Hartman tells Peter to drop his pants, Peter's hesitant and realizes what must be done during a prostate exam. He ends up running home frightened, confused, and naked. Peter tells Lois that he feels he was 'raped' by Dr. Hartman, but Lois knows better and thinks he's just an idiot.

The family decides to go for a swim in the nearby lake but they're shocked to discover that the water is making all of their hair fall out. This is due to the fact that the Quahog Oil Refinery is dumping toxic materials into the lake. The family ends up buying and wearing over-elaborate wigs following this event and they make themselves look like characters straight from the film "Amadeus". Stewie also begins playing the piano.
