Though Bart wants to go trick-or-treating, Marge tries to keep the kids off the idea, playing party games in the dark. She asks anybody if they have any scary stories to tell and Lisa is the first to tell hers: 'Clown Without Pity'.

Unfortunately, Homer doesn't have one; he admits his fault and decides to leave immediately to get one. It's because of this that he ends up at the House of Evil, a small shop of curiosities, stepping up to the counter looking for toys. The proprietor doesn't say no, but he does claim that they sell 'forbidden objects from places men fear to tread...and frozen yogurt.' It's from here that Homer walks away with a Krusty the Clown doll with a terrible curse...and a free fro-gurt!
