'South Park' - Season 2 Trivia

1. The episode begins with Mephesto about to reveal the mystery identity of Cartman's father. Before this happens, which character, previously not at the scene, suddenly appears?

The episode begins telling the viewers that Cartman's father will finally be revealed, since the last episode of the previous (and first) season ended with uncertainty. Viewers were unhappy by the April Fools' Day prank by "South Park" creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker, as instead of airing this episode as the season premiere, they aired "Terrance and Phillip in Not Without My Anus" an incredibly ridiculous and hilarious episode. When Mephesto is about to reveal the secret, Kenny almost magically appears, as he was actually killed off in the previous episode (a running gag in the show).

In 'Chickenlover', Officer Barbrady needed to stop a crazed individual going around South Park and having his way with chickens, but to do so he had to overcome his illiteracy, partly by going to South Park Elementary and getting a few lessons in reading comprehension. During this time, of course, he befriended the boys and had Cartman take over as the local law enforcement. In the end, the culprit was the local bookmobile driver who, as it seemed, only slept wth chickens to help Barbrady learn to read...which seems like an odd way to approach things.

When they won the game show, though, they were told their prize was a trip to South Park, just in time for Cow Days! Needless to say, Tom and Mary were less than thrilled.

Watching Steve Irwin wrestle crocodiles for no discernible reason inspired the boys to go out and look for crocodiles. Unfortunately, while traipsing around the mountains, Kyle through a hole into an ice cave. It was when Stan got lowered into the cave that the boys discovered the man frozen in ice!

Kyle and Stan didn't understand what independent films were, so Cartman explained: "Independent films are those black and white hippie movies. They're always about gay cowboys eating pudding." They're movies without all the glitz and glamour of Hollywood." Cartman was not to be swayed, and challenged her: "Show me one independent film that isn't about gay cowboys eating pudding!"

The air date was the reason for airing it. It was an April Fool's joke. The audience from the last episode of season 1 had waited to find out who Eric Cartman's dad was. Instead of airing the two part episode consecutively, Trey Parker and Matt Stone (co-creators) thought it would be funny to split it to make viewers wait even longer. The joke was not widely appreciated.

During the episode, the kids' parents try to give the boys chickenpox, so the boys try and get their revenge. In the end, all of the kids end up in the hospital, and Kenny dies of his chickenpox.

Sally is being held captive in Iran, so Terrance and Phillip go to help Sally there. Terrance had the daughter with Celine Dion.

With Chef as coach, the South Park Cows advance to the dodgeball finals and the Nationals in Washington DC, sending them onward to face off against the well-trained Chinese team. During an early practice, Pip breaks Kyle's nose and he has to head to Nurse Gollum, a woman with a stillborn fetus protruding from her head. Kyle tells his mother and she immediately takes it upon herself to make everyone extremely aware of the situation. By the end of the episode, Nurse Gollum needs to make it clear that people are singling her out and the Cows, with Pip at the lead, win the World Championships...not that it matters since everyone has been so busy celebrating Conjoined Twin Myslexia.

The man running the booth told the boys that all they had to do was throw a ball through Jennifer Love Hewitt's mouth and they'd win a doll. They paid $5 for three balls, and after Cartman missed twice, Kyle threw a ball which hit her right in the mouth, but didn't go through the hole because the ball was too big. Instead of giving up on the scam booth, though, Kyle determined to get more money and try again!

They were voting on whether or not to reinstate the death penalty in South Park, but didn't seem to be taking the vote very seriously. One guy walked up in the middle and voted affirmatively, knowing nothing about the topic of the vote! Then a major brawl erupted, which only paused when the boys announced their find.

When they approached, Chef offered them his low-calorie and all-natural cookie selections, but the woman asked, "Do you have any tofu or steamed celery?" Chef was confused and the man declared, "I would kill for some couscous right now." Chef didn't know what they were talking about, asking "Whose goose?" The woman excused them, saying "We brought some food from the natural market in LA."

His "attorney" is Phillip and his opponent is Scott. Scott uses several pieces of evidence against Terrance. These include a haiku, a bloody hammer, and a clothing sample. Terrance and Phillip seemingly get off because of their humor, particularly fart humor. It is revealed that these trials apparently occur weekly between the same folks. Scott tries to get Terrance thrown in jail weekly because he hates Terrance & Phillip's fart humor.

Mr. Tweek does all of these things throughout the episode except explain why Tweek is a nervous wreck. We find out from Mrs. Tweek that her son suffers from ADD (though all that coffee probably doesn't help him out too much).

As the ice melted away, Dr. Mephesto ruminated on the potential significance of their project: "He could be a Neanderthal. Or an Australopithecus from the Paleolithic era. Do you see that, Kevin? These clothes are from Eddie Bauer. I haven't seen anybody wear clothes from Eddie Bauer since... 1996! This is incredible! Think of all we can learn from this body! All that it can teach us!"

Cartman was complaining about the smell when something splashed in the water in front of the boys. They jumped in fear but then a figure rose from the sewage in snorkeling gear and the boys realized it was Mr. Garrison. They asked what he was doing "down in the sewer with a bunch of snorkel stuff on" and Mr. Garrison claimed he was just "hangin' out." When the boys seemed a bit skeptical, Mr. Garrison asked them, "Do you know how to file a police report?" They said they didn't and Mr. Garrison seemed satisfied, putting his mouthpiece back in and dropping into the sewer water again.

This seems to be the two's favorite cuisine. It is playing off a Canadian stereotype. In the episode it is spelled and pronounced "Kroff" to make fun of stereotypical Canadian accent.

Mr. Garrison spends a good chunk of the episode searching for Mr. Hat and blaming the children for his disappearance, even though he just seems to be a puppet. The kids don't care though; it's the first day of summer and the snow has melted. To celebrate, the town of South Park decides to purchase the world's longest ash snake. This goes as well as one would expect, and soon, the town is responsible for a devastating pillar of ash. Jimbo, Ned, and the boys need to leave Colorado to get the fireworks needed to put the snake to an end. In the meantime, Mr. Hat continues to be missing, and psychiatrist Dr. Katz believes that the puppet may have been a manifestation of Mr. Garrison's gay side (due to his fantasies of meeting Brett Favre with a bottle of thousand island dressing). Coincidentally, this is exactly where Mr. Hat is. He returns to South Park much later in the season, and until then, Mr. Garrison holds onto Mr. Twig.

After Kyle got money from his mom to win the Terrance and Phillip dolls, Cartman convinced the boys to go on the Chamber of Farts ride. They were pretty disappointed, as it just took them through a building with life-sized dolls emitting noisy gas. Then Cartman got them into line for another seemingly popular ride, but the line itself turned out to be the main attraction of the aptly-named Line Ride. When a woman offered to sell Cartman a photograph commemorating his "fun" time on the Line Ride, he forked over some more money. When the boys finally made it back to the ball-toss booth, they didn't have enough money for another round of balls!

Everyone expected the ice man to suffer shock when he found himself in the new society, and though he was speaking perfect English, no one seemed to understand him! After trying unsuccessfully to communicate, they resolved to call in a child to aide in bridging the gap.

As soon as someone suspected it was DiCaprio, camera flashes started going off and a buzz erupted in the room. After a moment, they realized it wasn't DiCaprio after all, and the disappointment was palpable, as everyone groaned and slouched back in their seats. Kyle delivered his heartfelt plea for Mr. Hankey survival, saying, "He's getting sick because his ecosystem is all out of whack because of all the extra poo in the sewer. If you don't all leave and go home soon, Mr. Hankey's gonna die." There was a pregnant pause in the room before the Hollywood folk erupted in discussion about the great story, saying how it could be "the next 'Free Willy'," asking if they could put a "crime-fighting rabbit or a lovable turtle" in it, and inquiring about how much Kyle was charging for the rights.

Terrance changes into a pirate costume for no apparent reason. After this, a package arrives for him. Phillip signs for it and the two discover that Terrance and Celine Dion's love child has disappeared to Iraq, thus develops the main plot.
