From Quiz ""South Park" - "Tsst""

'South Park' - Seasons and Episodes Trivia Questions

1. The episode begins with Randy, Stan, Kyle, Cartman, Kenny and Butters watching a football game. In which team's stadium is the game being played, according to the text in the end zones, and the fact that the town of South Park is in Colorado?

From Quiz
"South Park" - "Sarcastaball"

Answer: Denver Broncos

The episode begins with a broadcast of the football game of the Denver Broncos. Randy, his son Stan and his friends are rooting for the Broncos while watching the game on TV, since Denver is in Colorado, also home of the fictional town of South Park. Randy is seen celebrating when a player from the Broncos tackles one from the opposite team, and encourages the children to remember that headbutt in their practice tomorrow.

2. At the very beginning of the episode, a black and white picture is shown, with a podium in it. Which three words are written on the podium?

From Quiz "South Park" - "Goth Kids 3: Dawn of the Posers"

Answer: Human Freak Exhibit

This happens inside the room of Henrietta, a goth girl whose parents are concerned because of her "evil" behavior, as they describe it. She and her goth friends are holding a meeting and reading a magazine with Edgar Allan Poe on the cover when her mother interrupts.

3. The narrator explains that children in the town of South Park are trying to have as much fun as possible because it's the last day of which vacation period?

From Quiz 16.6 "I Should Have Never Gone Ziplining"

Answer: Spring Break

In a dialogue that mocks interviews done in survival shows, Stan mentions that they had only played video games and watched television, so they wanted to go out and do something different for the last day of Spring Break. The children gather together to try to plan their outdoors activity for the last day of Spring Break. Kyle suggests the city pool, which has a water slide, but Cartman argues he won't get in a pool with Kenny because he has herpes. Then, Kyle says in an interview that somebody came up with the idea of ziplining, but we as the audience don't know who it is, as we are immediately taken back to Cartman supporting the idea. In the United States, Spring Break is a popular vacation period that usually takes place in March or April, which coincides with Easter Break. Many American college students are known for traveling to Mexican beaches like Cancun on this time of the year, taking advantage of the weather and reduced legal drinking age.

4. Henrietta claims her mother abuses her, and so her friends go report the abuse to the Child Protective Services office. What word does Henrietta's mom call her that she and her friends consider abusive?

From Quiz "South Park" - "Goth Kids 3: Dawn of the Posers"

Answer: Emo

Henrietta is outraged by the fact that her parents don't know the difference between an emo and a goth, so she "protects herself from the abuse" with her goth friends, who go to the Child Services office. Obviously, the woman in charge cannot understand what's wrong with a parent calling her daughter an emo! In fact, she can't tell the difference between emo and goth herself!

5. In an episode called 'Funnybot', students from the South Park Special Ed department held an awards ceremony in which a country was voted as the "least funny in the world". What country won the award?

From Quiz 'South Park' - Season 15

Answer: Germany

In 'Funnybot', it was Germany's turn to be ridiculed and it was their perceived lack of humour that was put under the spotlight. In this episode, the South Park Special Ed department devised a comedy awards ceremony which the rest of the school wasn't particularly interested in. Attending the show was mandatory however, and so they all voted and watched on as award after award was accepted on behalf of comedians who couldn't make it. The final award was for the country that was deemed to be the "least funny in the world" - it went to Germany! Of course, Germany couldn't attend and so the award was accepted by one of the students on behalf of the European nation. The German government found out about this award though and so they made a "diplomatic" trip to Colorado in order to convince the students of South Park that they had made a terrible mistake. Ironically, for an episode explicitly about comedy, some television critics, including those of 'Entertainment Weekly', found this episode to be rather lacking in humour.

6. After the boys agree to go ziplining, because they hadn't done it before, they decide to look for someone who would drive them. Which character, who is related to Stan, ended up driving them?

From Quiz 16.6 "I Should Have Never Gone Ziplining"

Answer: Uncle Jimbo

In the back of Uncle Jimbo's truck, the children are seen having fun and enthusiastically looking forward to ziplining, while Cartman continues to make fun of Kenny's "herpes." The narrator describes the situation as "the ideal Spring Break getaway with friends and laughter." They finally get to the ziplining place, called Backcountry Adventures. They are greeted by a guide in a blue shirt and yellow helmet, who asks the boys to join him to get helmets and gear, to then "get up there and hit that fresh nar-nar." To me this character is one of the funniest in the episode, since e is actually a pretty accurate representation of some guides at ziplining parks that seem over-enthusiastic. Uncle Jimbo is Stan's uncle, while Mr. Garrison is their teacher, Mr. Broflovski is Kyle's father and Wendy is Stan's girlfriend.

7. As Mr. Mackey arrives to the meeting, he apologizes for being late, but says he had to get special breakfast because he is gluten free now, and he knew the rest of the teachers would be consuming which food?

From Quiz "South Park" - "Gluten Free Ebola"

Answer: Donuts

Principal Victoria tells Mr. Mackey, a bit annoyed, that they all know he's gluten free, and Mr. Garrison asks the Principal to start the meeting and ignore Mr. Mackey.

8. Henrietta's parents decide to send her to a camp to straighten her up and make her forget about the goth ideology. Two weeks later, when she returns, what has she become?

From Quiz "South Park" - "Goth Kids 3: Dawn of the Posers"

Answer: An emo

When Henrietta gets off the bus, her friends, who are waiting for her, are incredibly surprised. Henrietta has her hair dyed in purple, and she is not wearing a cross anymore. She starts mentioning suicide and listening to emo music, so Michael thinks the camp turned her emo on purpose.

9. Michael's parents suddenly decide to send him to the same camp Henrietta attended. Pete and Firkle then take an important decision: they would have to team up with their enemies, the vampires. Who is the leader of the Vampire Society?

From Quiz "South Park" - "Goth Kids 3: Dawn of the Posers"

Answer: Mike Makowski

Mike "Vampir" Makowski is a fanatic of the "Twilight" series, and besides being a student, he leads the South Park Vampire Society. When Pete and Firkle enter the Vampire Society meeting, the vampires reject them, however, they unite against a common enemy: the emos.

10. In 'City Sushi', what was the name of the "two-faced" therapist who diagnosed Butters with multiple personality disorder (MPD)?

From Quiz 'South Park' - Season 15

Answer: Dr Janus

Dr Janus was named after the figure from Roman mythology - Janus, the God of Beginnings and Endings. The common depiction of Janus is of two faces, one facing forward and the other looking back. In "City Sushi", which is not one of the most memorable of the season's episodes, Butters picks up a job distributing flyers for, you guessed it, a new sushi restaurant. This starts an "Asian turf war" between the owners of the new restaurant and the proprietors of the existing Japanese eatery. Butters gets caught up in the dispute and was sent home by the fuzz. His parents couldn't blame themselves for Butters "misdemeanours" as they declared themselves "awesome". To try and find out what was wrong, Butters was sent to Dr Janus, a therapist, who of course arrives at a diagnosis of multiple personality disorder (it couldn't really have been any other condition!).

11. Henrietta hangs out with her emo friends now, and when she invites them to a concert, one of them says she's too depressed to go. Which band, known for songs like "The Phoenix" and "Young Volcanoes", would perform in the concert?

From Quiz "South Park" - "Goth Kids 3: Dawn of the Posers"

Answer: Fall Out Boy

Henrietta even has a poster of the band in her room. While she is "hurting", or cutting herself, her mom interrupts again, and Henrietta kicks her out of her room again, saying, "Sorry I'm such a disappointment". Her mom takes that as progress, saying that she at least apologized! One of the emo kids then suggests to paint the White House black, and have Fall Out Boy play in the Super Bowl.

12. The Vampire Society and the Goths decide to summon the Vamp's greatest idol: Edgar Allan Poe. In which part of the school does this take place?

From Quiz "South Park" - "Goth Kids 3: Dawn of the Posers"

Answer: Library

Mike summons Edgar Allan Poe "calling upon the creator of all that is dark, knower of all that is misery", and claims that "his children need special guidance". Pete questions the plan, saying it's impossible to bring him back from the dead. However, the spirit of Edgar Allan Poe does show up in the library! He calls emos "wanna-be conformists".

13. In '1%', Cartman was once again the target of his schoolmates' hatred when he scored very badly in a test. In what subject did Cartman "achieve" a lousy score?

From Quiz 'South Park' - Season 15

Answer: Physical Education

'South Park' often used the physical characteristics of its animated characters to generate some great comedy and contemporary social commentary; '1%' focussed more on the social commentary than the comedy. In this episode, Cartman finds himself isolated when he was considered so bad at physical education that the entire school was dragged down from an overall average performance to being the worst in the country! The rest of the students of South Park Elementary were distinctly unimpressed leaving Cartman feeling alienated and part of the 1% of society being oppressed by the 99%. This, of course, was a deliberate inversion by the show's writers of the 1% / 99% wealth and power dynamic that was very much in the spotlight, particularly in the West, after the 2008 financial crisis. I sympathise with Cartman, I always had a note to excuse myself from physical education whether it was genuine or not!

14. The boys claim to have an emergency and need to go back, referring to Cartman's stomach issues (though the guides think Stan is talking about Kenny's herpes.) Which equine animal do the guides suggest the boys can use to go back?

From Quiz 16.6 "I Should Have Never Gone Ziplining"

Answer: Horses

If they didn't find another way to leave, they would need to zipline from the summit, which is why the guides suggest the boys go to a horse stable, a piece of advice they follow. Upon reaching the stable, the boys get excited as they will get 4 horses and be sent on their way, but they then realize that horseback riding is done in a tour group as well! The horses are only allowed to travel 4 miles an hour, which makes the ordeal even worse for the children. The narrator then changes the name of the episode to "I Should've Never Thought Horseback Riding Would Be Any Better Than Ziplining." After the horseback group stops for lunch, Stan has another idea: go to a nearby marina and take a boat. Though the boys seem resigned to their fate of staying with the horse group, they ultimately decide to follow Stan's newest plan. "What could possibly go wrong?", asks Stan. After Stan says that, a rarely seen situation in "South Park" occurs, as the image switches to human actors playing the children. The boys discover that the boat is only allowed to travel 5 miles an hour! The narrator once again changes the name of the episode to "I Should Have Never Got on a God Damn Boat."
