The episode begins telling the viewers that Cartman's father will finally be revealed, since the last episode of the previous (and first) season ended with uncertainty. Viewers were unhappy by the April Fools' Day prank by "South Park" creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker, as instead of airing this episode as the season premiere, they aired "Terrance and Phillip in Not Without My Anus" an incredibly ridiculous and hilarious episode.

When Mephesto is about to reveal the secret, Kenny almost magically appears, as he was actually killed off in the previous episode (a running gag in the show).

There is a short power outage, and then a gunshot is heard. When the light returns, Mephesto is seen lying on the floor bleeding, and a window cracked, implying the shooter was outside the room. Ironically, Kenny exclaims "Oh My God, they killed Mephesto!", as he is the one often killed off in every episode. Luckily, Mephesto is still alive and Chef takes him to the hospital. All of this infuriates Cartman since he still doesn't know who his father is.

However, that is not the town's top concern anymore, but the fact that there is a murderer free in South Park, and, as Mr. Garrison so eloquently described, "God only knows who he'll kill next."

You would think Chef would be most concerned about Mephesto's health, but after all, this is "South Park"! Chef's main worry, after Kyle says that Mephesto is bleeding, is the fact that his blood may stain his "Meredith Baxter Birney memorial towel", which he used for an undisclosed reason when she was in his car. Meredith Baxter is an American actress and producer, who has been nominated for several Emmy Awards for her work in series like "Family" and "The Young and the Restless."

On their way to "Hell's Pass Hospital", Stan begins to feel queasy, saying he can't stand hospitals, and asks to get out of the car, a request that Chef denies. Kyle suggests that maybe it is better that Cartman's father identity remains unknown, but Cartman argues that he doesn't like to leave things unfinished, and gives the song "Come Sail Away", released in 1977 by American band Styx, as an example. Kyle sings a part of the song, and Cartman, after making an effort to stop himself from singing it, starts singing the rest of the song.

The Mayor tells Officer Barbrady to pretend there is a competent law enforcer in town and try to think like him, which obviously yields no results. Sid Greenfield, director of "America's Most Wanted", claims they are desperate for stories and they see this murder attempt as a very compelling one.

The Mayor, worried about how the image of the town would be affected, asks if this wouldn't make the town seem dangerous, but the director strangely insists that the show is not about violence, but about family. I certainly did not expect that!

The social worker is naturally confused, since the law prohibits to perform abortion after the second trimester. Since the time of conception, 8 years ago, is "a little late to be considering abortion", Mrs. Cartman, who doesn't consider herself a fit mother, needs to seek for alternative options. Since the only way to change the law is to speak to her local congressman, "that is exactly what she intends to do!"

Mephesto and the boys finally get to the hospital, where a doctor and a nurse with no arms are performing surgery on a man whose head ends up falling off. Stan, sickened by all this, has to leave the room. Meanwhile, auditions are being held for "America's Most Wanted" recreation of the scene, where Mr. Garrison doesn't get the role of himself.

Ms. Cartman tries to convince congressman O'Riley to change the law so that she could perform an abortion to an 8 year-old child, but the congressman argues that she would need to talk to the Governor. Bill O'Reilly is the Fox News host mentioned in the question.

Mrs. Cartman ends up sleeping with both the governor and President Clinton, but neither turn out to be of any help to her.

John Walsh is an American TV host and investigator, who launched the program "America's Most Wanted" in 1988. Walsh is known for the murder of his son Adam, and his subsequent activism in favor of human rights and abducted children.

Before Walsh can introduce the episode, a power loss occurs in South Park, forcing them to air instead "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" Meanwhile, the hospital uses a power generator to keep the machines running, but the nurse tells Cartman it won't run for long. Due to the lack of staff, the doctor makes Chef and the children "honorary doctors", and they really get to participate in surgery! Unsurprisingly, Stan is sickened, and vomits into a chest incision.

The doctor shows everyone the blueprint that indicates the generator is outside the hospital. It must be turned on by entering through a sewage duct after of course going outside, in the middle of the storm! Teams are divided into Team A (the doctor, the nurse, Kyle, Stan, Cartman and Chef) and Team B (just Kenny!), who is obviously annoyed and scared. While Team B goes on a dangerous mission to turn on the backup generator, Team A will remain in the waiting area, with cocoa and TV!

Meanwhile, at the filming studios, Jimbo suggests to resort to cannibalism since they are all trapped because of the snow storm, although the director says that it has been only hours since they last ate. They come up with a strange solution: eat actor Eric Roberts! And they do!

This was a big surprise for me, and maybe for you as well! Mephesto first says that his brother was the one who shot him, since he does this every month! Then, after thanking Kenny for saving his life, he reveals that Mrs. Cartman is actually a hermaphrodite, meaning she has both male and female genitals.

The men in the room all throw up. As Mephesto explains, hermaphrodites cannot bear children, and thus DNA suggests Mrs. Cartman is actually his father, and got another woman pregnant. So then, who is Cartman's mother?
