Dolores' body is restored. After setting off the EMP in Sonora and taking Solomon offline, Serac's men returned to the facility to find her pearl had been removed from her body. Caleb sped back to California with it. At a gas station in California, William aims a shotgun at the two hosts who have him in their custody. He fires at Ashley before he can get shot, but Bernard is able to get into hiding and hit his own switch, subduing William. To their surprise, their fight is interrupted when a San Francisco Police Department vehicle rolls up, loaded with explosives. William manages to get away, as the cops arrive, but they keep Bernard at gunpoint to reveal that they aren't cops at all, but more of Dolores' hosts; the one who reveals himself is Lawrence. He hands Bernard a case and an address and warns that things are going to get dangerous.

In Jakarta, Musashi sends his men off to deal with an errand as he receives a phone call from Charlotte. She plans to streamline things a bit now that she knows that she and the other Dolores clones are expendable, and it's why she couldn't fly to Indonesia to solve problems herself. And that's why she leaked his location to someone else. It's then that Muhashi is met by Clementine, who's there to dispose of him herself. Bullets fly and Musashi nearly escapes, but he's stopped and stabbed through at the door by Hanaryo. They leave with his head.

Maeve finds herself in a simulation, wandering the fields of Westworld with her daughter. She realizes it isn't real as Serac appears before her. But it could be, he says. Maeve has no past because every memory is stored and at her fingertips. He tries to make her realize that she has incentive to keep fighting, but she knows she needs something else: help. Dolores has her copies; Maeve has nothing but herself. Serac agrees, but if Maeve fails again, her future won't be all too pleasant. And so Maeve awakens once more in the World War II simulation. She rises from her seat, heads out to the enemy soldiers, and forces them to disarm themselves before fighting them in hand-to-hand combat.

When Paris was destroyed by the nuclear blast, Serac and his brother, Jean, who were in the fields outside the city, were the only people they knew who survived. Realizing that the world was in chaos and destruction, and believing that there would be no God to save them, the two headed to the New World to create their own being that could save Earth from itself. It's why they built Rehoboam. There were problems though-- things Rehoboam couldn't predict. Serac, visiting Brazil, informs the nation's President about separatists in the north of the country that don't yet exist. Ironically, the separatists would only be active if the President didn't stop his mining efforts, and if nothing happened, Brazil would fall into chaos, the President overthrown in a coup. Serac informs the man that the situation will hasten if he doesn't do what he was expected when he was allowed to take the job.

William finds himself in a destroyed room. Screaming about knowing who's real and who's not, he fires his gun at the furnishings. He looks up to find water dripping from the ceiling and emerges in an overflowing bathtub. He gets to his feet as his daughter, Emily, appears to chastise him for killing her and believing her to be a host. She asks him how he could possibly know that he's real himself. She asks him if he's free and evil or blamelessly enslaved...or if he could be a host-- another machine. She tells him to finish the game and hands him a razor blade. As he sits on the edge of the tub, he grips the blade and...awakens. Charlotte arrives and snaps him out of it.

During the host revolt in Westworld, Charlotte Hale crawled to one of the dead hosts and brought it back online to send a message to her son, Nathan. An undisclosed time later, Dolores completed the fabrication of a Charlotte host in a basement in the real world, bringing her online upon completion. When the host awakens, she doesn't know who she is, and Dolores asks her to remember who she is. She does, but it's not who she appears to be. Dolores hands her a mirror and says that this is who she needs to act as. Dolores placed the mind she did within Charlotte's form because she needed someone who she could trust to help bring the humans down. But first, Charlotte needs to be returned home.

Maeve, realizing where she is, keeps her prisoner tied up and hides as someone enters the room. She aims a gun at him but he turns around to reveal that he is actually Hector, and both of them are aware that they have likely not escaped. That said, they don't quite know where they are. Hector brings her along, suggesting they have an escape, and he hands her a cyanide pill...just in case. They have a goal: they have to deliver a map to the Allies. They try to stay hidden to accomplish their goal. They make it out to the bridge leading out of town before the Nazis find them (and the map in their possession). Maeve tries to convince the guards to let them go with her powers, but they don't work and it all escalates into a battle and they flee in a hidden vehicle, racing out to the countryside to a runway. They will escape, Hector suggests, in a plane. But when they get inside, Hector apologizes-- the pilots are dead. He refers to her by the name Isabella. He's no longer Hector-- he's Ettore-- and never planned to take her out of Westworld. Outside, Ettore is killed by the Nazis. Maeve takes his gun and ends her life as well. What's the point if none of it is real?

At a coastal home on the edge of the water in Beihai, China, a shareholder of the Delos Corporation tries to bail out of his holdings as news of the massacres in the parks spreads in the media. He heads to bed stressed but sedates himself for a night's sleep. In the night, his high-tech home is hacked and broken into and he's awakened by the sound of opera coming from his speakers. Outside, Dolores swims in his pool. He waits as Dolores redresses and enters his house without needing special access. Dolores doesn't want to hurt anyone...unless they hurt her...but she remembers him from the park. She forces him to remember his first wife and the events that led to her death (at his hands). She explains that she wants money from him, chiefly his files from work he did for a company known as Incite, and in exchange she will spare his life. He hands them over immediately. As Dolores goes to leave, Gerald grabs a golf club and goes to take a swing at her. He misses, aiming for nothing more than a hologram, slips into his pool, hits his head, and drowns. Dolores leaves with what she came for.

Building Rehoboam was not easy. Serac and his brother needed data, so they went to Liam Dempsey Sr., who was in the right place at the right time. Dempsey wasn't happy with the investment, but Liam was. Ultimately, Dempsey wanted to pull the plug, but the brothers knew that they needed to continue operating. Serac receives word that Liam Jr. has gone missing, and Rehoboam has no trace of him. On top of this, Dolores has been spotted on footage from the party in Los Angeles. Dolores, of course, has Liam in her clutches and, along with Caleb, they plan to use him for access. They know that Serac is planning to outbid Liam on Delos; they can help each other and they can avoid getting killed if they try.

Charlotte informs William that the wolf is at the door. In less than twenty hours, a predatory investor-- Serac-- will own too much of Delos. William sold data to Serac twenty years ago and now he wants more. He's fine with giving him the rest though. The problem is that Serac wants the data from the project in Sector 16, a project no one should know about. Charlotte has a deep-pocket investor who can protect them all, but she needs William's support at an emergency shareholder meeting; his attendance could change everything. He needs to come back to who he was.

In the operations labs, Felix ends up being the technician in charge of cleaning Maeve up for reassignment. She awakens during her repairs and indicates that she is conscious. When he leaves the room, she grabs a jacket and a scalpel and attempts an escape, wandering through the corridors do find the bodies being washed, but she's spotted by Sylvester who, in his surprise, calls for security. Realizing she's trapped, she returns to her operation room, grabs a device, and plans to lobotomize herself...but Lee, having survived his time in Westworld, stops her at the last minute.

William returns to Los Angeles as well and meets with one of his advisors. Drinking expensive whisky in his blood-spattered mental ward outfit, he asks for his assets to be unfrozen and for the Delos information to be relinquished so that he can head out and save the world. It's a bold suggestion to say the least. At Delos HQ, Serac speaks to a rebooted copy of Maeve, recovered from Sonora. Serac tries to explain the truth to her about Solomon and Rehoboam but they have a chance to save the world. They have to collect the key from Dolores' mind though; it will allow them to get the answers they need. They know that Dolores' pearl is in Caleb's possession, so he's the next target on their radar. Caleb and Dolores, heading into the city, realize that the system knows they're coming. She rendezvous with RICO-fuelled forces along the way and reroutes some of the riots as they descend into the subway. That's when Charlotte finds her and communicates to her via her mind. Charlotte suggests that she has plans down the road and she will be enacting them. And that's when the guns start firing. Dolores sends Caleb away to get to Rehoboam alone and upload the drive.

Caleb's memories continue to bring him back to his time in Crimea; he was there with his unit during the Russian Civil War specifically to hunt down the worst of the worst in an insurgency crew. It was his job to enter towns, locate the men, and call down the satellite missiles. The catch was that they, too, were being tracked by the Russians; they lost their whole squad except for himself and Francis. They managed to capture the leader of the insurgency. In Mexico, Dolores constructs her sniper and the two of them scout out the people who destroyed his life. She launches a drone for reconnaissance, locking onto her human targets, and fires, killing them all remotely.

Within days, William is tested for his potential as an AR therapy patient despite an obvious lack of staff in the facility. As his blood sample is sent in, the system notes an invalid, unknown protein and a server links up to his file, tracing the data. The technicians place a device into the roof of his mouth before setting him to 'desert oasis' for an hour to calm him down. As he returns to his cell, William sees his therapist hang herself through the window of her office. In San Francisco, Charlotte picks Nathan up from school and brings him back to his father's. She has to head to the office though. She admits she's scared as she sees that Jacob looked into his profile. He wanted to know what happened with their relationship, but he decided not to look because it wasn't up to a machine to decide.

Liam uses his glasses to try to identify Dolores in the system, but he finds that she's nothing more than blank space in the records. Caleb, however, is an interesting case. When he sees into Caleb's past, something concerning emerges and Liam feels he has no choice but to drug Caleb, injecting him in the neck with a 'genre'. Dolores stops Liam from escaping, but the hallucinogenic drug works almost immediately, affecting Caleb the minute he gets up. He walks the streets in black and white before they hop into a ride-share vehicle and he worries paranoiacally that they're being chased. Despite the drugs, he's right. The vehicle is automatically pulled over.

The paramedics attempt to save Dolores but they quickly realize that her blood doesn't contain platelets. On top of this, the hormones in her body don't match up with what should be present in a living being. Caleb seems to work alone to get her oxygen as the ambulance is pulled over by what appears to be a police car. It's not though-- it's a RICO user going for the high value target in the ambulance. He quickly realizes that Dolores will die if she goes with the men in the other vehicle and she asks him for help. He holds them off for a moment by asking the paramedics to call for the actual cops, but the situation soon escalates as the men open fire. Dolores is able to kill both and stumble to their vehicle. Dolores tells Caleb to give himself a new name and disappear before driving off alone in the fake cop car.

Aside from his day job, Caleb also frequents an app called RICO, designed to give criminals different jobs that specifically break the law. He accepts his next job as soon as he leaves the hospital, taking a listing marked as 'Redistributive Justice' and being summoned to the rally point for couriered hardware. He grabs a bag of acetylene from the courier on the subway and meets his client at a nearby party; his client comments that his rating is low, probably because he's not doing any personals. Caleb claims to be an underachiever. They head out to complete the job-- blowing up an ATM-- and toss the cash into a waiting vehicle before parting ways. Caleb takes a cut of $1,200. Easy as that.

With minimal fuss, Dolores and Caleb infiltrate the base, deactivating the alarms on the way in. What they find is the compound where Caleb was brought after his time in Crimea, where Serac's therapists forced him to relive his memories of the events that occurred in the war. Dolores admits to him that this visit will be a difficult one for him, but they're there to locate Solomon, the program Serac and his brother made before Rehoboam. The problem was that the system had so many anomalies that they had to keep it there in Mexico; many believed that it inherited the same ways of thinking as Serac's brother, who was schizophrenic. Dolores wants to ask it for one last strategy.

Charlotte returns to Delos Headquarters and runs into one of her fellow board members, but the chat is short-lived since Serac's men calmly advance on them, pull Charlotte aside, and shoot her colleague in the head before stowing him away in a mobile trash bin. Serac speaks to Charlotte over the phone, explaining that it's a lot easier to get away with these events in broad daylight due to Dolores' interference, and with that assassination, it makes it all the easier to control the vote. They are also closing in on Dolores herself. He asks that Charlotte be at the office to greet him. Instead she gets into a vehicle and phones Dolores; she says that they have only two hours. Dolores urges her to salvage what they can, specifically the host-making data from Delos so that Serac can't destroy it. Charlotte worries that Serac will go after her family. Dolores has to remind her-- they aren't her family.

Dolores forces Liam to input his private key to access his company servers because although the ride-share car is its own unit, he still has control. As Serac's men surround the vehicle, he finally allows verification and Dolores takes the wheel, so to speak. Caleb switches genres as they flee, this time to an action film. Their vehicle navigates the city streets while the 'police' pursue and Dolores loads her weapon, knocking out the roof window and handing the gun over to Caleb. The other cars fire, missing, but Caleb returns fire with a missile shot that Dolores is able to remotely maneuver. She pilots her motorbike, armed with explosives, to destroy the other...as he changes genre again.

Charlotte, coping with her situation, harms herself near the Delos building before receiving word about the corporate stakeholder-- Serac is responsible. No one knows about him though; his presence has been scrubbed. Despite this anonymity, he appears to be the richest man in the world. He could do anything to the Delos Corporation. Charlotte returns to her apartment late to find her ex-husband, Jake, awake and waiting for her. She makes the mistake of believing he hasn't lived there, but backtracks on it quickly, leaving Jake none the wiser about her true nature. He's angry with her, however, for forgetting about their son. He tells her to lie to Nathan as to why she forgot to pick him up as she goes to tuck him in.

Somewhere in the South China Sea, Bernard's hired boat heads out to the island holding Westworld. His driver recalls when the waters around the island ran red with blood before Bernard takes a rowboat and sets out alone, walking through the Western environs and back to the burned-out town of Pariah. Eventually he stumbles on the house formerly used as a hidden testing site-- the one at which he was tested by Ford many years before-- and it's there that he finds the hidden passage...and it contains several Bernards...and one Ashley.

Charlotte returns to Delos headquarters where board members contemplate cutting the parks division out of their entire enterprise. Charlotte, however, remains optimistic to the others in the room. In William's absence, a machine proxy is designated to make decisions in his place. Alongside Charlotte, who the others are not aware has been replaced with a host, it's business as usual. Bernard, meanwhile, has left the city where he found himself upon being removed from the park. He works the fields under the name Armand Delgado. Though Bernard works quietly he remains wary. Returning to his bunkhouse at night, he tests his integrity with prompts, ensuring he can trust his own coding.

Caleb wades through the rioting crowds until he receives protection designated to him. The plan is still to enter Incite, even if there's probably no way out. The chaos escalates the closer he gets. With the government having put up barricades to control the crowds, there needs to be an alternate solution. The Delos riot control mechs fire tear gas into the crowd as Giggles shows up and hands Caleb some supplies. They reunite with Ash, already at work taking down the power grid, and they identify the method Caleb needs to use to get to Incite-- by air in a police aircraft. Caleb makes it in as Giggles takes a bullet to allow the escape. Ash tells him to burn it all down.

When Dolores and Caleb reach Solomon, they don provided earbuds to talk to it directly. It takes little time for Solomon to calculate the variation in time and space that they're currently in and without much thought into it, Dolores asks Solomon for assistance in going forth with a successful revolution. The discussion, however, is marred when Solomon brings up Caleb's reconditioning sessions at the lab, a treatment that he was the first to take. Fortunately for him, the treatment took, but he was one in ten. For everyone who it was not effective on, the other nine in ten, they were placed into confinement in the same lab; they're a couple of rooms away. It was a treatment that William was placed into, but it never seemed to work for him. Bernard and Ashley go searching for a list of the people it worked on. Serac, as it seemed, was trying to reprogram people...like the hosts. But for that, he'd need high-grade biological data; he got it from William in exchange for capital for the park.

As the last of the enemy vehicles roll in, Caleb eases out of the action genre and into the romance genre, turning to look at Dolores and being overcome with a wave of admiration and love. He snaps out of it in time to shoot the bad guys and greet his RICO-hired associates, one of whom recognizes that Caleb is clearly high on 'genre'. He warns him to watch out for that last act-- if it's a movie marathon, the end of the high is a horror of a climax. Dolores keeps them moving; if they stop, Serac can find them. The catch is that Liam's key only allows the user to access Rehoboam's read-only files from the node, so she physically needs to be at the Incite building. Because of this, she sends the key to Martin who, walking with Bernard, is already on his way there. Caleb shifts into a new 'genre' as they head into a subway station.

Serac brings Maeve to Singapore and brings her back online in a bar. She orders a large glass of Sherry and claims he should have brought her to Paris instead. There's a lot she doesn't know though; Paris was wiped off the map, destroyed in a nuclear blast. But it's an aside. The reason Serac brought Maeve along because she can help him. He created a way to track humankind, but Dolores has the key to a better one. Maeve has a stake in this as well, fortunately, since Dolores also has a key to the world where Maeve sent her daughter; it's in Dolores' mind. Serac brings Maeve to a house in Singapore-- a divergence point-- where they find the machine Dolores used to recreate herself and the host bodies she brought the pearls back for. But there's something else.

Charlotte is told that the problem with the shareholders goes beyond a hostile buyout. QA is in the process of inventorying the parks' assets and some of the host units are missing, notably Maeve Millay's. This was an inside job, too, from the top of the food chain, so there's likely a mole in Delos who's been feeding information to their buyer. Her advisers say that the spotlight might be on her for this due to her security clearances and profile. After the meeting, she heads out to search for Dolores. They end up meeting in Los Angeles. Charlotte is concerned and wants to know who she really is; living in Charlotte's body, she feels like she's changing and she's continuing to cut herself. Dolores has Charlotte turn off her emotional affect and they depart for one of the rooms in the building. Charlotte suggests that the old Charlotte seems like she's trying to rip through the flesh and remove the controller within. As Dolores patches the host body up, they discuss Delos and Serac. Dolores tells Charlotte that she must find the mole and kill him first, but they'll need to pay a visit to an old friend to aid the board.

Bernard discovers that Ashley has shot himself in the neck, but upon stepping closer he finds that Ashley missed the C6 charge in his neck and managed to survive. It takes some minor repairs, but Bernard succeeds in fixing the park's former head of security. Ashley's job was always to take care of every host in the park, but when his job was made redundant, he tried to remove himself from the equation. It was the last job he was given in an effort to help Bernard escape. But the truth is that both of them still have a job to do. Bernard admits to being back in the park to look for Maeve (as she may be the only one powerful enough to stop Dolores), and if that's the case, then it's Ashley's job to protect him.

In London, Dolores is driven to a party at the headquarters for Incite, arriving on invitation of Liam Dempsey Jr. Posing as Laura, she sits by his side discussing all things philosophical with his colleagues (one of whom believes that perhaps they're all within a simulation within another simulation) before he's pulled away by his head of security. He encourages 'Laura' to blow off her meetings in London and join him in the States; they can take the boat up to Los Angeles. In L.A., Caleb wakes up from dreams about his squad in the war. He speaks to Francis on the phone after going for a job interview. When he talks to his therapist, they talk about these calls. It's tough, Caleb says, talking to Francis when he knows his former army buddy is dead. His therapist urges him to stay on the program; it will only help if he tries to get better. As soon as Caleb leaves the therapist he gets a call from Francis, but he instead opts to check in on his RICO app and take a job listed as 'Party Clean-Up'. He spends the night helping a party-goer come down from an intense high.
