Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. While in Westworld, Charlotte recorded a message to be sent to whom?

Answer: Her son

During the host revolt in Westworld, Charlotte Hale crawled to one of the dead hosts and brought it back online to send a message to her son, Nathan. An undisclosed time later, Dolores completed the fabrication of a Charlotte host in a basement in the real world, bringing her online upon completion.

When the host awakens, she doesn't know who she is, and Dolores asks her to remember who she is. She does, but it's not who she appears to be. Dolores hands her a mirror and says that this is who she needs to act as. Dolores placed the mind she did within Charlotte's form because she needed someone who she could trust to help bring the humans down.

But first, Charlotte needs to be returned home.
2. Charlotte discovers that one person has been buying unprecedented stake in the Delos Corporation. It's determined to be William.

Answer: False

In San Francisco, Charlotte's host performs her duties attending meetings and receiving riot control components for Delos. She receives word about analyses, specifically about companies under the Delos umbrella which have slowly been purchasing shares on a micro-level to accumulate 38% of the company and the largest single component of the enterprise.

The board has effectively been bought out. They don't know who's responsible. In Echo Park, Caleb sits with Dolores' body after the attack and he calls for EMTs.

The paramedics load her into an ambulance, and that's when things get complicated.
3. Dolores' ambulance is pulled over by the cops, but it turns out they're not the actual police. Who are they?

Answer: RICO users

The paramedics attempt to save Dolores but they quickly realize that her blood doesn't contain platelets. On top of this, the hormones in her body don't match up with what should be present in a living being. Caleb seems to work alone to get her oxygen as the ambulance is pulled over by what appears to be a police car.

It's not though-- it's a RICO user going for the high value target in the ambulance. He quickly realizes that Dolores will die if she goes with the men in the other vehicle and she asks him for help.

He holds them off for a moment by asking the paramedics to call for the actual cops, but the situation soon escalates as the men open fire. Dolores is able to kill both and stumble to their vehicle. Dolores tells Caleb to give himself a new name and disappear before driving off alone in the fake cop car.
4. What is the name of Charlotte's ex-husband?

Answer: Jake

Charlotte, coping with her situation, harms herself near the Delos building before receiving word about the corporate stakeholder-- Serac is responsible. No one knows about him though; his presence has been scrubbed. Despite this anonymity, he appears to be the richest man in the world.

He could do anything to the Delos Corporation. Charlotte returns to her apartment late to find her ex-husband, Jake, awake and waiting for her. She makes the mistake of believing he hasn't lived there, but backtracks on it quickly, leaving Jake none the wiser about her true nature.

He's angry with her, however, for forgetting about their son. He tells her to lie to Nathan as to why she forgot to pick him up as she goes to tuck him in.
5. The Delos Corporation is particularly interested in the whereabouts of which Host's missing control unit?

Answer: Maeve's

Charlotte is told that the problem with the shareholders goes beyond a hostile buyout. QA is in the process of inventorying the parks' assets and some of the host units are missing, notably Maeve Millay's. This was an inside job, too, from the top of the food chain, so there's likely a mole in Delos who's been feeding information to their buyer.

Her advisers say that the spotlight might be on her for this due to her security clearances and profile. After the meeting, she heads out to search for Dolores. They end up meeting in Los Angeles. Charlotte is concerned and wants to know who she really is; living in Charlotte's body, she feels like she's changing and she's continuing to cut herself. Dolores has Charlotte turn off her emotional affect and they depart for one of the rooms in the building. Charlotte suggests that the old Charlotte seems like she's trying to rip through the flesh and remove the controller within.

As Dolores patches the host body up, they discuss Delos and Serac. Dolores tells Charlotte that she must find the mole and kill him first, but they'll need to pay a visit to an old friend to aid the board.
6. Where is Caleb captured as a result of his RICO profile?

Answer: The hospital

Caleb opens his RICO app on a notification to discover that there is a Seize & Secure mission out specifically for him to be brought in for questioning. He goes to visit his mother in the hospital regardless-- he knows he's going to be away for a while. He's nabbed by a couple of RICO users as he leaves the hospital room.
Dolores leaves Charlotte to rest and contacts her host duplicate of Martin to locate Caleb Nichols. Fortunately, they isolate camera footage that indicates exactly where he is.
Caleb ends up at the edge of a building under construction under intense pressure to talk. They move in to control him and pull up his information just as a construction robot is turned on outside.
7. Who saves Caleb from being killed for information?

Answer: Dolores

The RICO users notice that the maintenance robot has been brought online and as it approaches them, they knock it over the edge of the building as a final warning to Caleb that he would be next if he didn't give up the information about Dolores. A gun is held to his head, but it doesn't matter-- he slips into a memory brought on by PTSD as Dolores arrives just in time to kill his attackers. Caleb asks who she really is; she gives her real name: Dolores. The two of them talk over breakfast. Since people were willing to kill him to get to her, he realizes how deep he is.

It's only the beginning.
8. What song did Charlotte record herself singing?

Answer: "You Are My Sunshine"

Charlotte awakens in Dolores' apartment and heads to work where she receives new intelligence from Martin. Specifically, it's the video she recorded for Nathan in the park, a recording where she sings "You Are My Sunshine" as guns fire in the background.

She's broken away from the video as she's notified that she's running late to pick her son up from school. She heads out, arriving at the school after it's let out, and she finds Nathan sitting on a bench petting a man's dog. Something is severely wrong though; the man is someone she's never seen before, and it's clear what his intentions with her son are.

She sends Nathan off to get his things while she speaks to the man alone and chokes him to death. As she chokes, she begins to remember who she really was before she was in her body.

She brings the dog with her-- for Nathan.
9. How long, according to Rehoboam, does Caleb have before he takes his own life?

Answer: 10 to 12 years

Dolores takes Caleb to his typical diner to eat and chat; Dolores orders him his usual. She knows all about him because something else has been watching him since he was a child. His mother, who would later be diagnosed with schizophrenia, left him in that dinner when he was eight. Dolores says she knows all of this because of Incite and the system the company was built on-- Rehoboam-- which put every aspect of everyone's lives into its processes as raw data to create a mirror world, a composite, to better understand how to control peoples' futures.

They go walking out to the ocean and down a pier and that's where Dolores says Caleb is expected to kill himself; the predictive algorithm has him set to commit suicide there in ten to twelve years. Before the system, Dolores says, Caleb might have had a chance, but with this prediction, he will only become what Incite wants him to be to fulfill the expectation.

He will never advance in work, he will never marry, he will never have children; they won't invest in someone who will likely kill himself and, in a circular way, he will kill himself without the help.

He asks why she would tell him this, and Dolores says they're alike-- they put him in a cage and told him how life would be. If he helps her start a revolution, she can help him break the cycle. He agrees; he's a dead man either way, but this way he decides how he goes.
10. Whose mind contains the key to Delos' encrypted secrets?

Answer: Dolores

Charlotte returns to her office to try and interpret the video she recorded in the park, replaying the rendition of "You Are My Sunshine" in an attempt to communicate to her son the last time. It's then that Charlotte realizes that the garbled phone messages she's been receiving for the past several days, were the tones of the song she was singing, and it allows her to access a phone number she'd been unable to contact.

She phones it on her drive home, and when she does, her vehicle is automatically rerouted. The car brings Charlotte to the armed perimeter of Serac's compound where she is let inside for a quick meeting.

She quickly realizes who she's speaking to and he suggests that maybe she's playing her role a bit too well. He wants what she promised him-- Delos' dirty secrets, profiles for its guests.

She explains that the assets were lost in the massacre; he knows it though, he predicted it. All of the information exists out in the world somewhere, but without an encryption key, it can't be accessed. Serac knows this too and knows where it is-- in the mind of the host known as Dolores-- but Charlotte is running out of time.
