Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of the following races/species has virtually disappeared in "Twilight Princess", but existed in "Ocarina of Time"?

Answer: Gerudo

With the exception of Ganondorf, there are no Gerudos in the game, although there is such a place called "Gerudo Desert". Rito doesn't exist in either of these games, but it does in "Wind Waker". Gorons and Zoras still live in the same places; Death Mountain and Zora's Domain (respectively).
2. What is the name of the ally which Link finds in all dungeons/temples, who helps him transport out of the dungeon if he needs to?

Answer: Ooccoo

Ooccoo's son, Ooccoo Jr. is the one who actually transports Link to and from the dungeons, but Ooccoo is who Link finds. While transported from the dungeon, Ooccoo remains in the room that Link left from, so he can return to the same room once he's ready to go back.

The only exception to this is the City in the Sky, as it is Ooccoo's home. During this dungeon, Ooccoo won't return Link to Hyrule, but rather to a shop just outside of the dungeon. The cannon is conveniently near the shop so if Link needs to get back to Hyrule, he can.
3. Is the Ordon Sword the first weapon Link acquires in this game?

Answer: No

The first weapon is actually the slingshot. Link doesn't get the sword until after he's been captured and locked away in Hyrule Castle. The slingshot is a necessary item for the Forest Temple, but once Link gets ahold of the arrows (Goron Mines), the slingshot becomes dead weight.

In further addition to the arrows' superiority, the hawkeye is an item (looks much like a mask, in fact) that allows Link to zoom in on far-off targets so he can pick them off more easily.
4. Which of the Ordonian children gets picked on by some of the other Ordonian children?

Answer: Colin

Colin gets teased because he told Jaggle that Talo got kidnapped. Malo and Talo also give Colin a hard time by not letting him pass to the spring until Link comes along to help. Colin makes quite a transformation as far as his courage goes, as the game progresses.

He goes from a wimp to a hero, as he bravely sacrifices himself by putting himself in harm's way, to save Beth from a terrifying fate. Link does save him, of course.
5. What is the name of the Goron patriarch?

Answer: Darbus

Darbus is the bulky Goron that gets transformed in the Goron Mines into a powerful and evil monster. After being saved by Link, he does not seem to remember much about his transformation; he acts as if nothing has happened. Later on, he helps Link gain access to the Hidden Village by removing a rockfall that blocks the path.
6. Is one of the three types of bombs the Bombchu?

Answer: No

The type of bomb that relates most to the Bombchu is called a Bombling. Bombchus don't exist in "Twilight Princess", but they do in "Ocarina of Time". The difference as far as bombs go between the games is that in "Twilight Princess", Link needs seperate bomb bags for each different type of bomb. In "Ocarina of Time", Bombchus didn't need a bomb bag at all.
7. Who is the one child that was kidnapped who was separated from the other children?

Answer: Ilia

Ilia was kidnapped and was saved eventually by Impaz. She wound up in Castle Town in Telma's Bar, and eventually moved to Kakariko Village with the other children. Even after having moved, her memory was still gone... it took a small statue found by Link later on to trigger her memory. Beth, Malo, and Colin were with each other in Kakariko all along.
8. What is the main dungeon prize in Lakebed Temple?

Answer: clawshot

This works exactly the same as "Ocarina of Time's" hookshot, this weapon gets Link from place to place by attaching itself to something and pulling Link over to it/pulling it over to Link. In the City in the Sky, Link finds another clawshot, which he uses to get from place to place continually like Spiderman.
9. To assemble a full heart container, does Link have to collect five pieces of heart?

Answer: Yes

There are nine hearts containers Link can assemble, so this is a pretty long process. If you do the math, you find that there are forty-five pieces of heart total. In "Ocarina of Time", you needed only four pieces of heart to assemble a heart container. One thing that makes the hunt for pieces of heart less frustrating in this game is that Link can pay Madame Fanadi to "predict" his future and show a vague image of where a piece of heart lies.
10. What is the name of the woman who tells fortunes, and can either predict what Link must do next in his adventure, or where "love" can be found?

Answer: Fanadi

Fanadi's Palace is the name of her house, and for ten rupees the spirits can show/tell Link his destiny. Agitha is the little girl who's obsessed with bugs. Telma owns a bar in southern Castle Town, and Uli is Colin's mother in Ordon.
11. Who transported Prince Ralis from Castle Town to Kakariko Village when he was sick in her carriage?

Answer: Telma

Not only does she own a bar, oh no! She also owns a carriage! Link must protect the carriage from enemies as they make their long trip from Castle Town to Kakariko. Soon afterward, she returns to Castle Town. There seems to be something between her and Renado (in Kakariko Village, he lives in the sanctuary), as he hints to Link that he can't stand her.

Then, when Link delivers a letter to her from Renado, she goes off about how he didn't even mention one thing about her in the letter.
12. Originally, did the expensive shop in Castle Town have the Magic Armor on sale for 10,000 rupees?

Answer: No

The price they had it on sale for was 100,000 rupees! After Link helps Malo get enough rupees to open a Castle Town branch Malo Mart, there's a special on the Magic Armor where it is on sale for only 598 rupees. The poor salesperson in Castle Town gets demoted from a successful-looking businessman to a dancing jester when Malo Mart takes over, but seeing him act as a fool is heart warming when you think about his cockiness from before.
13. To restore Jovani to his normal self, how many Poe souls must Link collect?

Answer: Sixty

If Link collects twenty, Jovani regains his ability to move, but his body remains golden. Link must collect sixty souls to complete the deal. This is one character who Link cannot talk to as a human; the only entry to his house is a spot in the ground which only the wolf can cross through (the door is locked). Since Link can not transform back into a human in the presence of others, Jovani actually puts all of his trust in a wolf to find his broken soul... how poetic.
14. Link must use which item to control the owl-shaped statues created by the ancient protectors of the royal family?

Answer: Dominion Rod

First found in the Temple of Time, Link uses this to transport a statue from the eighth floor of the dungeon to the first floor. After the dungeon has been completed, the Dominion Rod loses it's power and Link must find a way to restore it. The Dominion Rod is also vital when it comes to finding a way to reach the City in the Sky, as it is the only thing that can move those random owl statues out of the way, so Link can collect missing letters of a word which is a piece of the puzzle.
15. Does Link have magic power in this game?

Answer: No

No more green potions, no more magic container. Link's items can all be used without magic. Unfortunately, this means that fire/ice/light arrows don't exist anymore, and his spin attack is lame. There is the Magic Armor but it consumes Link's rupees, not magic. However this game makes up for the loss of magic in a plethora of ways.
16. What is the maximum amount of rupees that Link can carry at one time?

Answer: 1,000

Link gets his bigger wallets from Agitha, the insect-lover. How she became so rich I'll never know... but if Link brings Agitha one golden bug, he gets an upgrade to 600 rupees (from 300 rupees which is the original), and if he brings her all 24 bugs, he gets an upgrade to 1,000 rupees. Still, there are SO many rupees out there (in chests and whatnot) that even with the giant wallet, Link will have it brimming with rupees for most of the game.

In "Wind Waker", Link can carry up to 5,000 rupees (I think that's a little too much), and in "Ocarina of Time" he can carry only 500 rupees (that's just not enough...).

This game seems to get it juuuuust right.
17. Who helps Link in defeating Diababa?

Answer: the temple's miniboss

The baboon who fought Link using the Gale Boomerang comes back to help during the main boss battle. He traverses from one side of the room to another using a rope and helps by carring a lit bomb between his feet, which Link must blow away with the Gale Boomerang and hit the boss.

This causes the boss to fall and Link can slash away. This room/arena is actually one of the several that Zant teleports you to during his battle.
18. What is the name of one of the residents who lives in Ordon Village and is also the name of one of the sages in "Wind Waker"?

Answer: Fado

Fado is Link's boss, if you will. Link works for him/helps him out by herding the goats in their stable in Ordon Ranch while riding on Epona. If Link does this a second time (optionally) and completes it in under three minutes, Fado awards him with a piece of heart. Fado is also the name of the sage of the Wind Temple in "Wind Waker" who was killed by Ganondorf.

His title as sage gets passed on to Makar.
19. Is there a portrait of the fisherman from "Ocarina of Time" in Hena's fishing shop?

Answer: Yes

This is the fisherman who had a constant itch by his arm. Link could angle his fishing rod in such a way that when cast it, he could "catch" the fisherman's hat, which the fisherman would get really mad about. Fishing in "Ocarina of Time" costs twenty rupees.

Hena makes a comment that she may be related to him, or at least she'd like to be. It is revealed during her comments on this photo that "Ocarina of Time" had actually happened long long before this adventure.
20. Which is the only house in Ordona that Link never gets to go into?

Answer: Fado's house

Fado is at the ranch during the day, and therefore keeps his house locked, and is asleep at night so his house is still locked.
Link is required to go to Mayor Bo's house to learn to wrestle with the Gorons, although he isn't able to at the beginning of the game. He is also required to go to Rusl and Uli's house as a wolf so he can take the Ordon sword, and he's required to go to Sera's Sundries (which is also her house) to buy the slingshot.
21. Where is the Queen of Fairies located?

Answer: Cave of Ordeals

After replacing the broken bridge from Hyrule Field in the Eldin Province, the entrance to the pit of trials is unearthed, literally. After fifty levels of increasingly difficult enemies and scarce health items, Link gets the ultimate reward which is the Fairy's Tears, which heal Link completely as well as boost his attack power for a short period of time.

This item can be refilled at any spirit's spring from that point on.
22. To hurt Ganondorf while on the horseback part of the battle, does Link have to fire a light arrow bestowed by the spirits to stun him, and then slash him?

Answer: No

It is actually Zelda who must fire the arrows. Despite Ganondorf's crippled-looking state, he recovers after just one slash from Link's sword. After four or five hits, Ganondorf falls off of his horse and the duel between him and Link commences. Even though Link has clearly given him a harsh beating by this point, he still has the nerve to conjure a hearty laugh.

This is where all of those secret lost techniques come in really handy.
23. How many of Link's equippable items are completely unnecessary in the game?

Answer: Three

The Bombling, the Horse Call, and the Hawkeye aren't required at all. The Bombling helps for enemies, although there is no enemy in the game that cannot be defeated without it. The Horse Call makes traveling MUCH quicker, but Link can traverse all areas without Epona. And in the rare events where Epona IS necessary, she appears automatically for Link without being called (such as the carriage escort from Castle Town to Kakariko).

The Hawkeye helps for accuracy of the bow for far-off targets, but keeping a steady finger makes it possible to shoot all far-off targets.
24. Fishing is a sidequest put in just for the fun of it (for the most part), but which of these is not a fish shown in the game?

Answer: Ordon bass

The reekfish is practically the only required part of fishing in the game, so of course that one exists. Link must catch one to learn it's scent, so he can track down Yeto the beast... who turns out to be quite hospitable. The Hylian pike can be caught at the fishing place in Upper Zora's River, and the Hylian loach is shown in the picture in Hena's fishing shop along with the fisherman from "Ocarina of Time".

The Ordon bass doesn't exist; it is a combination of the Ordon catfish and the Hyrule bass.
25. This one's tricky, but when Link pays the fortune teller in Castle Town to tell his love fortune, she chants something. The chant however, if read backwards, reveals an English sentence. Which of the following is the sentence?

Answer: Wait... loading takes awhile

This sentence is the chant for love. The chant for career is "What am I talking about". This makes sense, as it does take the game like 10 or 15 seconds to load the image of love. To really read the whole sentence backwards, you'd have to spend a LOT of rupees as the chant is on the screen for only about 3 seconds. What you can do is take a picture (in real life) and then you take your time with it, to make it quicker and easier.
