Civilization Trivia Questions

1. Since its inception "Civilization" has allowed the player to choose between various types of Victory conditions. Which type of Victory condition was REMOVED from the base game in "Civilization VI?"

From Quiz
Sid Meier's Civilization VI

Answer: Diplomatic Victory

Diplomatic Victory is achieved by reaching a certain threshold of Diplomatic Victory points but is only available in "Civilization VI" if one has the "Gathering Storm" expansion. To complete a domination victory one must capture and hold the starting capitals of all the competing civilizations. A religious victory requires that you convert a majority of the population of all competing civilizations to a religion that you found. To achieve a science victory, you must accomplish these major milestones, in the base game; that means, Launch a satellite, Land a Man on the Moon, and Establish a Martian Colony

2. One of the first major changes to 'Civilization V' was the changing of the map grid. Gone is the traditional square grid for this new shape. What did they go for instead?

From Quiz The Gameplay of "Civilization V"

Answer: Hexagonal Grid

The choice of the hexagonal grid does a few things. The shape allows for new curvatures that allow the map to gain a more realistic geographic look, with maps such as Earth or Continents at play. Each grid contains a plethora of information regarding the environment of the map, from terrain to resources, and even Natural wonders that are scattered around the map.

3. A is for alphabet. What can you do once you have discovered the alphabet technology?

From Quiz The 'Civilization IV' Alphabet

Answer: Trade technologies

The technology tree is the key to the game as you advance through it, unlocking new weaponry and buildings. A player would not want to get too far behind and fall prey to more advanced civilizations. Trading technologies is one way to advance more quickly by skipping the research time needed. The alphabet technology also unlocks the ability to build research, meaning using a city's production toward research rather than city improvements or units. In the 'Beyond the Sword' expansion, a player can build spies with the alphabet. Writing is actually discovered prior to the alphabet, something which I do not understand.
