Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the only advantage the German Panzer has over tanks?

Answer: Movement

The Panzer is 16.8.3. The Tank is 16.8.2.
2. An imaginary unit has stats of 2.3.1. What does the "3" represent?

Answer: Defense

The first number is an Attack value, the second is a Defense value, and the third is a Speed value. For units capapble of bombardment, there are also numbers in parenthesis representing its bombardment power, Range, and Rate of Fire.
3. There is a new feature in "Play the World" that allows the player to name individual units.

Answer: True

It comes up automatically after you get a leader, but you can also rename a unit by pressing "Shift-N".
4. America's leader is Abraham Lincoln, but what is its attributes?

Answer: Industrious, Expansionist

The Greeks and Koreans are commercial and scientific, the Ottomans and Persians are industrious and scientific, and the Russians are expansionist and scientific.
5. In order to build things, what does a citizen need to collect?

Answer: shields

I do not know why they are named shields, besides the fact that the icon looks like a blue shield.
6. The artificial intelligence (A.I.) for the computer players cheats.

Answer: False

As a source, look at the "Prima's Play the World Strategy Guide". There, on page 123, it states that the A.I. does not cheat, but it does know the location of all the resources and cities on the map. It does not bend the rules or gang up on the human player. It doesn't even know which player is human. This is merely game balancing and not cheating.
7. What does the longbowman upgrade to in "Play the World"?

Answer: guerilla

This has been added in Play the World in order to avoid the tendancy for the A.I. to have obsolete units. The riflemen and infantry are extentions of the whole "defensive" chain of units. (Spearman to pikeman to musketman to rifleman to infantry.) Crossbowmen are Babylonian unique units.
8. Which civilization is NOT in "Play the World"?

Answer: Prussia

The Celts were the only added civilization listed in "Play the World". Prussia is sort of represented by Germany, as Bismarck is its leader.
9. What can a leader do?

Answer: become an army

Kings are in regicide games. Cities are made by settlers. "We Love the King" days are caused by happy citizens.
10. Which company created "Civilization III"?

Answer: Infogrames Interactive

Ensemble Studios is known for the "Age of Empires" series. Lucas Arts owns all the "Star Wars" games' rights. EA games make a lot of sport games but have also done "The Sims" and "007 Nightfire".
