Marlo is the oldest child of actor Danny Thomas, who founded the St. Jude Children's Hospital in 1962, after he promised to build a shrine to St. Jude who he prayed to for help. Marlo was a trailblazer, playing a single woman living on her own in the TV show "That Girl" from 1966-1971. Marlo is the National Outreach Director for St. Judes and her husband Phil Donahue also works on behalf of the hospital.

Hurricane Katrina destroyed the Lower Ninth Ward, a poor neighborhood in New Orleans, in September 2005. When Brad Pitt visited the area in 2007, he was shocked at the lack of progress in rebuilding the area and founded the "Make It Right Foundation" to provide homes for the residents.
Initially promising 150 homes, the Foundation focuses on building energy-efficient "green" homes made of sustainable and recyclable materials.
6. Jerry Lewis
Answer: Muscular Dystrophy Association
The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) was found in 1950 and later that decade, Jerry Lewis hosted parties to raise funds for the organization. The annual MDA Labor Day Telethon, broadcast the Sunday before Labor Day, began in 1966 with Lewis as the host, a role he performed every year until 2010. Lewis left the telethon under a cloud and remained silent about his departure for over five years.
He did make a video in 2016 supporting the MDA, his last support for the organization before he died in 2017.

This charity was founded in 1938 as the China Children's Fund, changed its name to the Christian Children's Fund in 1951 and in 2002 joined 11 other charities in the ChildFund Alliance. Sally Struthers, famous as Gloria on the TV show "All In The Family" (1971-1979), was their recognizable TV spokesman for a number of years. Ms. Struthers did commercials and longer infomercials for the charity, highlighting the plight of poor, undernourished children across the world and asking viewers to donate monthly to sponsor a particular child.

Bette Midler, singer, actress and film producer, began her career in the 1960s in off-Broadway plays. This and other connections to NYC may have influenced her decision to found the New York Restoration Project in 1995. The NYRP focuses on revitalizing neglected neighborhoods in the poorer areas of New York City.

Answer: True Colors Fund
"True Colors" was Lauper's 1986 hit album; the name also fits with the multi-colored LGBT flag and is a natural fit for the charity she co-founded in 2008. "The True Colors Fund" strives to end homelessness among lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) youth. Lauper hosts an annual Home For The Holidays benefit concert in New York City, with 100% of proceeds supporting the True Colors Fund.
10. Willie Nelson

Willie Nelson, musician, actor and more, co-founded Farm Aid in 1985 with fellow stars John Mellencamp and Neil Young. That first concert raised $9 million to aid struggling family farmers, and annual concerts continue to support small farmers who suffer loses from natural disasters or who are in danger of losing their farms from mortgage debt.
