In this movie, Catherine gave it her all as club singer, Velma who was accused of killing her husband and sister. Catherine portrayed her character very well, throwing her weight around as the star while in prison. Jones was nominated for several awards for her role as Velma Kelly.

This included winning Best Supporting Actress from three different awards: Academy, BAFTA Award (British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards) and Broadcasting Film Critics Association Award. Also she won Boston Society of Film Critics Awards 2nd place supporting actress. "Chicago" won six Academy Awards and won 31 other awards and was nominated for 52. Hexum portrayed a model named Mac Harper, who also had military background and was recruited by fashion photographer, Dani Reynolds to work undercover. It is true that Jon was in "Cover-Up," but he didn't overdose or commit suicide. He was kidding around at the set, playing with a prop gun with blanks and put it to his head on October 12.

He was operated on and put on life support. When his life support was removed, he died October 18, 1984. Jon had charisma, determination, and the looks to succeed.

He had just started a promising career and was on his way to super stardom! When in a single moment, all that changed. What a tragic accident to a talented young man who had his entire future ahead of him! It helps us realize to treasure every day we have! He also appeared in "Voyagers!" (1982) as Phineas Bogg. Jon was born November 5, 1957 in Tenafly, New Jersey.
